I just had my first ematrix treatment 2 days ago, I’m a white male in my mid 40’s and have acne scars from my teenage years on both sides of my face.
I went to my local Derm office to have it done, they were very nice in explaining everything about the procedure and how to take care of my skin afterwards and even gave me a bunch of sample tubes of the different lotions I would need.
She told me she started with a level 59 on the machine which is supposedly somewhat low and will increase with each session, either 3 or 4 depending on how many times the tip can be used, after the first treatment the tip was 17% used, she showed me the screen on the machine. They did not use numbing cream, maybe because the setting isn’t on high.
The next day my face wasn’t that red at all and unless you looked really close you couldn’t hardly see the checker marks, here on day 2 after the treatment my skin is just a little bit red in some areas. I could have seriously gone to work the next day and I don’t think anyone would have noticed, I’m guessing it may be more red on the 2nd treatment when they increase the level.
I know it's going to take lots of time and more treatments before I noticed anything.
I did not take any before pictures, the doctors office did take some.

E-Matrix 2nd Treatment
stevengMay 23, 2015
Had my 2nd treatment yesterday, the whole procedure only took about 30min, no numbing cream was used like some places do. The machine was set to 62mj which is the highest it goes too, it definitely stings a bit, she took pictures before we started. After it was done she applied a moisturizer which made it feel so much better but that doesn’t last too long, overall it wasn’t that bad and after a few hours I could barely feel any burning.
Today my face is a little red, I think for guys it doesn’t show as much because when you look like you need a shave it hides it. My next appointment is in 4 weeks, I’m hoping to see some improvement in the next few weeks.

E-Matrix 3rd Treatment
stevengJune 21, 2015
I just had my 3rd ematrix treatment 2 days ago, the session went just like the first two, I was in and out in about 30 minutes, she used level 62mj again on all areas, after the treatment my skin was stinging a bit, but it didn’t last too long, over the next 2 hours it felt much better and after that I could hardly notice it.
The next day there was some redness but it was barely noticeable and I actually went out shopping. I should have atleast 2 treatments left on the laser tip, I have my next appointment already scheduled in 4 weeks. I think I do see a difference in some areas where the scars look softer.

Thank you for documenting your journey here, I look forward to your updates. It would be great if you could get the photos from the doctors office and share them with the community.
