I had v-beam done Oct 2015. I had about 10plus spots done on my face.they were purple and buised for a week or two. Some of them blistered. It did remove most of my spots. BUT, two spots left me with hyperpigmentation. One above my lip another above my eyebrow. Its almost been a year. I went back in January and the dermatologist gave me Finacea. A prescription skin lightener. I hasn't done anything. These spots are so dark that no makeup will cover it. Everyone tells me there is "something on your lip". They said because I have darker skin(Portuguese) this happened. I need to know if this will ever go away, I have a feeling it's permanent. Has this ever happened to anyone?

Maybe try a vitamin C serum to deal with the hyperpigmentation. It has helped mine and is gentler than many of the skin lighteners. Unfortunately, the darker your skin the more likely you are going to have hyperpigmentation with any injury. Sometimes it can just happen on its own randomly, in the sun, or with age. I've had most of my hyperpigmentation from childhood.

OMG, yes...and I'm Portuguese too! Except that I have a spot the size of a quarter on each check. It's been about 2 years for me, and like you, NOTHING covers or takes it away. I have tried everything, with no results, and I'm very self conscious about it. I had gone in for some tiny little spots that looked like freckles, now I look like a clown

Have you had any improvement? I have a 2 year pigmentation from filler injection under eye that does not go away!! I need some success stories from dermal pigmentation improving, because mine is not fading at all and I'm borderline suicidal over this

Yes dark spots are a nightmare. Some times after summer, I am like dalmatian.
Finacea is azelaic acid, this takes a long time to work, many, many months.
I have had good results with 5% hydroquinone cream + 0.1% tretinoin. Dark areas faded within 4 weeks. I have tan skin (and much sun damages). It is difficult to get in Europe, you may have to find doctor who specialises in pigmentation problems. I ordered from Indonesia,
1x Equinon (use 2 times a day)
1x Reticor (every other day - will make you skin peel)
Another option is 10 % mequinol cream. You can get from pharmacy (in Greece Leucodinine-m), but I have not tried this yet, maybe this summer :-)
Always use strong sunblock, when you use hydroquinone and retinol creams.

Did you ever find a way to lighten the spots?

No, it will always be on my face. It’s not as dark as it was in 2015, but it is still very obvious.

It's likely dermal. I have dermal PIH under my right eye after filler injections, I now look like I have a permanent under eye bag. Hoping for new improvements in pigment lasers or that the bisphosphonate liposomal cream will be a success.
