I Thought I Was Getting Lasik! WTH!? - Maryland, MD

UPDATED FROM Honeydoo72

I can see the light!

Well, I have to say that things have greatly improved. I have not worn my contact in 3 weeks! I see very well for distance. Reading close up is still a bit challenging because my unoperated eye is so blurry and the corrected eye is still healing. However, I am now seeing bits of improvement daily. I can see how monovision may work for me. I will update next month. I am loving wearing my shades without contacts!

I initially found out about LasikPlus online. After inquiring about Lasik, I found out that several associates had their procedures done by this doctor and were very happy.

Your updates have been extremely helpful to me in being prepared for the post op recovery time. I would probably have freaked out in week 3 if I was still in discomfort! Thank you for taking the time to post. I also will be doing PRK n just one eye so I look forward to how your mono vision is working out. (I've often worn one contact at a time and my vision seems to even itself out, only -3.00 in both eyes)

This evening is rough. It os just over 3 weeks and for the past 2 hrs I have been placing preservative free drops in every 15 minutes. My eye is so irritated. It feels like day 3! It is after hours, but if this feeling continues tomorrow, I will be making a visit to the office. On a good note my clarity has dramatically improved. I do still have blurry periods, but overall the vision in this left eye is better. I am still wearing the contact in my right eye.

what is the difference? I had lasik in both eyes last year and I LOVE IT..but those first few days SUCKED...but now its heaven!! for the first time in my life i can lay on my side in bed and watch tv without laying on my glasses!!
That is exactly what I was hoping for. PRK takes longer, because there is no flap created. I have to wait for the actual cornea to heal because the top layer was ablated. Basically. It takes at least 3 months.
I am so sorry for all of that!!! I was just telling my hubby how awesome lasik is....I pray that things get better every day!
Thank u. This is expected for this procedure. However, because the of the shape of my cornea , I was not a candidate for lasik. This procedure is what they did before lasik. I was just hoping to instantly see clearly. It is gradual..... very gradual lol!

All who are considering this procedure, please do one eye at a time!! You must have patience. This is a slow recovery. My eye us still blurry, however making slight improvements each day.
