Well, I recently started considering lasik. I looked forward to wearing sunglasses and have been uncomfortable wearing contacts lately. Yesterday I went in for my procedure and was informed that the doctor felt PRK would be a better procedure for me. In my preliminary work up I knew I would possibly have prk in one eye. However, I was not prepared to have both done on my scheduled day of surgery. Hence, I had one eye done yesterday.

I went in for my follow up today. I drove myself. My cornea is healing well. I am not in pain. I am waiting. I have read that day 3/4 can be bad. My eyesight is blurry today. It was clearer yesterday.I am using my antibiotics and I am using artificial tears each hour that I am awake. I return to work in 2 days. The doctor said acvording to the way my eye heals, I may not need the other done. I appreciate the info because he could have easily got another $2000 from me. He is a very fair and an expert in this field. We will see. I may just request to have the procedure done once my eye heals. It seems odd just having one eye corrected.

I initially found out about LasikPlus online. After inquiring about Lasik, I found out that several associates had their procedures done by this doctor and were very happy.

How does anyone function with both eyes done at the same time?! This is day 5 and starting at the end of day 3 the discomfort set in. It feels like a dry contact intermittently. I have continued with the artificial tears and my antibiotics. I have been wearing one contact while the other eye heals. My vision is hazy. Will update in a few days.

If I would have done both eyes at the same time, today would not be a good day. Today I had the protective lens removed and the vision in my eye is very blurry. I understand that my cornea is healing and this is a part of the process. I am looking forward to this process being over. Occasionally I will get a clear view, but it is nothing consistent. Working has been a bit of a challenge because I have never been a fan of contacts and I need to wear one in my other I so that I can see.I previously have worn them for a night out on the town, but not every darn day.. The only drops that I am using now are the sterroids. So, hopefully I will get to have perfect vision sooner than later. The doctor really believes that I will come to like monovision. We shall see. Will update again in a week.
