Excited but Scared 45 Y/o with Size 40I Boobs! Marshfield, WI

UPDATED FROM Boobs be gone

Bra fitting

I went yesterday to get fitted since its been 6 weeks. I was a little disappointed when she said I was still a 38 F (ddd). Well after I went shopping I fit very well in a 38 DD. I'm trying not to let the number bother me. I feel and look good! Last night was the first time I finally slept bra less,,, it felt great!

Love reading about your story and recovery since your surgery. I'm in the process of trying to get a reduction as well. I'm a 30GG trying to go to a C cup. I hope my insurance will come through and see that it is medically necessary and not cosmetic. We shall see. Thanks again for sharing your story. Laura
Congratulations on your reduction!! I wore soft cup bras from September till last month (size M). I thought I would be a C cup (was 34H), because they seemed very small, and my little hands actually cover them! But I just got fitted, and I am a pretty solid 34D, but if the band runs small (like the DKNY bra I'm wearing), I'm a 36C. Don't let the number and cup get you down, just think how much smaller DD is than I! I was a D in high school and thought I was "so big". Now my Ds are "so small" - funny how perspective changes when you've experienced the "other side"! I wish you a continued good recovery, and perhaps as the settle in, they may get a bit smaller!
Just retread that, and size M, meaning Medium, not M cup! ;-)
Well hello friend. I too am beginning this journey. I was a C cup in middle school and am a 36 G right now at 5'2. I cannot wait util men no longer look at me. I think my boobs have actually turned me into a man hater. They have NO control! They just stare and make comments. Disgusting!

My wish is to go from a G to a C cup, but my PS is saying I should only go to a "D" to be more proportionate. But here is the thing...proportionate to who? i could give a rip if other people think my boobies are too small. Hahaha. For real. So I'm an apple shape now, won't I be an apple shape any way you slice me?

So you make me feel more confident about my decision. In fact, I'm not so worried about the choice to do this or the actual procedure, I'm worried about having the tubes removed. Everyone who has posted about it says that it was the worse pain. how was this for you? Did you have any openings at your T-zone? What did you take for pain killers?

I work in maintenance and am also worried about eh physicality of my job. I have heard of women getting open wounds a month in. How has it been for you working in a factory?

Honestly? I can't believe how great you looked right out of the chute! Your PS did an awesome job and you should be so proud of your boobies!!!

Here is my secret confession...I would love to be a B cup and never wear a bra again. There. I said it.

Please let me know how the tube removal was for you!
p.s. I'm a Wisconsin gal too!
I also was worried about the removal of the tubes, actually I wa petrified. Believe me, you don't even feel it. It took all of 7 seconds and the holes closed up by the end of the day.

At the bottom of my nipple on my left boob didn't actually pull apart but there is a more noticeable white scar there but I figure that will also fade and is worth it. I was only prescribed Tylenol 3 with codeine. I took regular ibuprofen 2 times a day then the Tylenol at night, more so to help sleep than anything.

I do work in a factory, but I am at a desk, so I can't help you out there but I don't see any problems after 3 weeks.

I am very happy with my PS, she was amazing. I admit the first time I looked at them, 2 days after surgery, as I was removing the bra and pads I started to get light headed and thought I was going to pass out because I was so scared. But I was very surprised and ecstatic.

You go girl,,,you will be so happy.
I just wanted to say "Hi!" because I am in Wisconsin too :) I will have my surgery on 4/21.
Hey I am in Wisconsin too and I will have my dr appointment on 4/21 he sent me to physiotherapy last year but that didn't work at all, lets see if I am a candidate for BR
By the way good luck with your surgery
Mine is 4/13 fellow Wisconsin gal. Good luck to you!

You look amazing! I need a reduction too, if somebody can help and explain to me about the bra size and cup please? Which is the cup and which the back. I'm petite 5'2 120 pounds and 34DD the thing is I have very thin legs and no hips at all, so I look weird with big boobs, I would like to get really small boobs because the same, do you think it will be ok? But I don't understand the sizes, I know mine because they do at the store for me, I would appreciate any help :)
The letters indicate the cup size and the numbers relate to the size of the band that goes around the back. I say RELATE because I just measured my favorite Wacoal bra, fitted by the boob experts at Nordstrom post-surgery, and my 34C measures out at 26 inches. As for how small you can go, your PS can help you figure that out. My PS said the width of the top of your breast determines how small you can go. When I was 24, I was 5'5", 112 pounds, 34DD, and I went to 34B. Second BR post menopause I was 59, still 5'5", 132 pounds, 32DDD, and I went to 34C. I looked great then and I think I look great now. Plus I feel FABULOUS.
Thank you very much for your time and explaining so clear! I'm scared you know, but I think I'm getting closer, seems like it's worth it
Just read your story, you look great! Can I ask who your insurance was? I ask because I am in the middle part of WI too, and am just starting the journey (had my consult on 2/18) and waiting for insurance to make a decision (WPS).
I have blue cross blue shield of Illinois. Once they finally received my paperwork, they approved it in 2 weeks. I have never been so happy with a decision as I am with this, I feel better, look better ( in my opinion, and that's what really matters) and am having fun buying new swim suits, something I always dreaded. Good luck and I hope you get approved!!

3 weeks today

I can't stress enough how glad I am I finally did this. I bought a swim suit top yesterday (strapless) and it fits so good and I'm not busting out of it. I still haven't gone bra shopping yet ot even know what size I am. All I know is I feel so much better about myself, that's all that matters to me.

My 3 week check up just got rescheduled for tomorrow. I was hoping to go today so I can get my work release form, I'm planning on returning to work on Friday. I seriously can't believe how good and pain free my recovery has been. I would have to say, out of the 3 weeks, the last week has been the most uncomfortable. And when I say that, I don't mean pain just very sensitive nipples and fullness of my breast. I'm glad I still have feeling in my nipples but I hope some of that goes away. When someone hugs me they stand at attention, if you know what I mean.

fantastic recovery! and you look amazing.
Looking good! And that sensitivi8ty will subside in time. Maddening, though, isn't it?
Don't worry. I'm sure your doctor will tell your that's normal and part of the recovery phase.
