Retainer - Night #1

WORTH IT$3,800
I went back to the dentist on March 1st and my gap was not closed on the bottom. So my dentist put what I can only describe as a dent in my retainer to help push that tooth over to fill the gap. He then told me to wear my retainers all day/night for one more week and then go only wearing them at night. Today was my first day without any aligners. It was weird! I just got ready for bed and put my retainer in and WOW the top one is so tight! Especially on my bad tooth, it makes me scared to not wear them during the day. So I may occasionally wear them.

Did you stay with doing nights only? I was done about a week ago with wearing them full-time, and it is an uncomfortable feeling when you put them on before bed and they are so tight...
I have been continuing to wear my retainers only at night. Unfortunately my gap on my bottom is still not fully closed. I will say that they are still uncomfortable when I first put them in but it has lessened slightly over time.

Week 36 - Retainer

Hi! I am still wearing my retainer all day every day until March 1st when I can switch to nights only. I will say there was a day in the last couple weeks where I left my retainer out for a good couple of hours on accident and it was tight putting it back in. So crazy! The gap in the bottom has not closed completely on its own, which is kind of disappointing. But everything still looks amazing and I am very very happy with my smile :)

Week 33- Retainer!

I went this morning and got my buttons removed and was given my final retainer as well as a back up one in case I ever need it! I was told to wear my retainer for 4 weeks to let my teeth bones harden back up from being moved around the past 7 months. After the 4 weeks I go back to the dentist just for a final checkup. He also thinks that between now and then my gap in the bottom will close up. Once the 4 weeks is up I can wear my retainer at night only. I am thrilled with my final result!!

U look great.
Thank you so much!
Looks great! What was it like to get the buttons removed? Does it feel like there is any glue residue left over? Looking forward to getting some of mine off at the next appointment...
Getting buttons removed was nothing major. I’m not sure off the exact process but whatever is used makes your mouth really cold. I do not feel any residue at all!
