Tummy Tuck Recision with Embrace Scar Therapy - Marina Del Rey, CA

ORIGINAL POST

If I had used Embrace Scar Therapy the first time...

If I had used Embrace Scar Therapy the first time I had surgery in 2016 I would not have had twice the downtime. I highly recommend these for all surgery's. I have had such great results with the Embrace tapes and the skin continue to improve weekly. My revision is a result of my skin pulling apart which left a ½ inch purple scar on my tummy tuck, not a fault surgery itself. My breasts were also redone as I had the same scarring on the breasts as well. I also had the belly button redone. The Embrace tapes has held the belly button down tight, the scars are all flat and healing rapidly. I am told over the next year to expect some redness in the new scars but they will fade in a year. I only have a thin scar which is 100% better than the hideous scar I had before the revision.
I just began to exercise again with the permission of my surgeon and I feel very confident wearing the Embrace tapes knowing the scars will not open again or stretch out like they did in 2016. No one should risk healing without the benefit of using Embrace, it's not worth it. It's a minimal cost compared to the cost of your surgery and the downtime required for a 2nd surgery. This is not a fault of a surgeon, it's just how our skin heals. A revision surgery without Embrace may result in the very same scars.. Please invest wisely in your recovery! Use Embrace Scar Therapy.

Hi I am hoping for my scar to heal as well as yours using Embrace Therapy. At what point in your recovery did you put the sheets on - right after, once stitches were removed etc?

Thanks xx

Hey Tropaz,

You need to wait until your stitches are out and the scar line is dry (no scabs, no fluid)
If you have absorbable stitches (like I did) you have to watch for them surfacing and then wait for them to heal before putting the embrace on again.
For me the embrace also held in a lot of fluid from a fatty tissue breakdown and ultimately delayed the healing but if you don't have issues it seems worth it.

Thank you :-) Xx

Would you mind telling me if you had to pay for your revision surgery ? I think I will be in the same situation and don't know if it's normal to pay with it not being a fault of the surgeons .

I wish I had! I'm thinking of get a revision and then using Embrace to help it heal better. I was stupid to say no to it the first time. I had no idea that it really makes a HUGE difference. I wish the doctor would've insisted!
