Rhinoplasty Marbella - Spain, ES

5 years ago my husband promised me a rhinoplasty operation. Then Lehman Brothers went bust and I was stuck with my nose - until last week!
We had decided that the time was right for me finally to have a nose job. So we started making enquiries.
Living in Marbella, Spain, is like living in Hollywood: It's Plastic - Fantastic! You cannot sit in a café enjoying a Café con Leche without spotting minimum 5 people during 10 minutes, who has undergone some form of cosmetic surgery.
But everyone in our network could only share their experiences of breast augmentation, Botox or face lifts. No-one we knew of had ever undergone rhinoplasty. And whilst both my husband and I are quite straight forward, we are unlikely to run after a passer-by with a perfect nose, asking whether they have had surgery, and if so, by whom? It's like asking a fat girl if she's is pregnant: It can be really embarrassing!
So we tried to Google "before and after" pictures and local surgeons. And whilst spending several hours researching low-costmetic surgeons in Madrid, we kept ending up with Dr. Aslani of Cirumed Clinic in Marbella.
Come to think of it, it was actually my husband who suggested Dr. Aslani. I am originally from Afghanistan and Dr. Aslani is originally from Iran - so theoretically we both speak Farsi. My husband thought that we would probably get a "good price" if we consulted a surgeon in his mother tongue. Additionally we had learned that nearly 25% of Iranian woman have had a nose job - so obviously Dr. Aslani had plenty of experience.
Imagine his disappointment when we learned that Dr. Aslani did not speak a word of Farsi. He had grown up in Germany, yet he had an impeccable English accent. But he had not changed the life of 25% of Iranian woman with big noses!!
Having consulted a few surgeons previously, we were impressed by Dr. Aslani's confidence and experience. As we left the pre-op consultation, we both looked at each other and said: "He's the one!" Having spent over 100 hours researching surgeons in Marbella, interviewing friends and ex-colleagues, reading thousand of blogs, going to several pre-op consultations, we had finally found our surgeon!
We confirmed our enthusiasm within 24 hours and was offered surgery in Marbellas Private Hospital Quiron within 4 weeks. Actually, come to think of it, I was a bit disappointed being offered cold ham at the hospital following my operation, considering I am a Muslim vegetarian!
Upon arrival to the hospital we checked in. A pleasant, English speaking nurse made some preliminary tests prior to me getting wheeled down to the operating theatre.
When I woke up I looked like a road kill. I was completely black underneath both eyes, my nose was covered with plaster and initially it looked as big as before surgery.
It was not till day 7 after the operation that the splint was removed by Dr. Aslani's superb assistant, Jeannine, that we got to see the result. Whilst still swollen, it is clear that Dr. Aslani has done a brilliant job.
