after my second child i gained weigh and my stomach grew larger as though i was still 9 months pregnant. I developed the flap that would sit on my lap when i sit down. I was able to come up with the money and decided to go with the surgeon my friend used. I was hesitant and afraid to go through with it. I perused this site and saw how some people were so happy with their results. As my surgery date got closer I started to notice stories of people who felt their stomach was still distended, their navel was off centered, the incision line was too high or shaky and some folks ended up with dog ears. Reading those results were very scary and discouraging but I hoped and prayed I would be one of the success stories. As of today I am 25 days post op. The doctor did an excellent job with the incision line, it is high in my opinion and I hope it drops once the swelling goes down, The navel looks exactly like my friends. Its small and I hope it doesn't disappear, but I'm happy to report it did not get infected and its not a triangle or a big circle. My belly no longer sits on my lap but I do have a muffin top and hope that it's swelling and goes down. At 25 days post op TT, I'm looking like I'm 6 months preggers instead of the 10 months preggers that I used to look like pre op.

I believe it is still swelling! I'm almost 5 months and still have swelling, though it isn't as bad as it once was. I'm just more aware of it now. Your tummy looks smaller then in the first post op pic. Did you have muscle repair? I think your incision will drop once the swelling goes down. Hang in there! You look wonderful!

Thank you, I hope so too. I'm wondering if I did indeed have the muscle repair. I'm going to reconfirm when I go back in June.

well, its's been a long ride and its still not over. I feel like I would never be able to do this a second time. I'm not sure I would recommend this procedure. I hope in 3-6 months I'm able to change my view. The recovery is more severe than the actual procedure. Pain is not the issue, discomfort is the problem. Patience is another matter as well. For me, I think being overweight added to the frustration and miserableness I feel with my results. Instant gratification is not apparent. I feel like my belly isn't changing much as the days go by. It's now 1 month and I feel as swollen as week one. I look good in my workout clothes but I don't like what I look like when I take my clothes off. To me my stomach looks and feels a little alienish. The swollen and high pubic area also looks a little scary. I'm wondering how long can I stave off my fiance` from the loving he's been requesting. I'm really hoping and praying the swelling goes down and my body begins to look beautiful.

muffin top go away

muffin top is still here. swelling doesn't seem to be going away. today at work my stomach felt tight and heavy like it was going to burst. I still feel shapeless. When I look down I still see belly. I thought one of the benefits of the TT would be to be able to look down and see my private area. When I sit and look down I still see belly, granted its not on my lap, but its still fat and chubby. I know its only 1 month post op but when will I see flatness...

Be sure to cut down on carbs as best you can, as well as sodium. Drink alot of water to flush you out and carry extra water fluids out of the body. Swelling can be caused from these things additional to the surgery, but can be somewhat controlled. Maybe talk to your PS about lymphatic massage therepy, and if he has any referrals, as this can help with swelling too. Are you taking arnica or anything supplement-wise for it? Fenugreek is another good one for inflammation. Laying down as much as possible is good too because your lymphatic fluids drain in your chest cavity, so if you are upright all of the time, it cannot drain properly, thus causing a build up of fluids in your tummy. By the looks of it, it seems to be swelling more than anything... I hope that things settle down and flatten out for you soon. Keep positive, and know that no matter what, once things heal good, you can work those tummy muscles and get that result you seek.. :)
