I did LASIK almost two years ago when i was 19 and it was definitely worth it! Both of my eyes were almost at a -8 so I was really bad. I worse glasses since I was in probably second grade and went on to get contacts because I really hated glasses. I also suffer from astigmatism which is the only thing that sometimes still bothers me mostly at night when there is lightening. The day of my procedure I arrived at the office in New York and waited to be seen. I went into a room where an assistant looked at my eyes and went over what was going to happen. I was also offered some pills, but decided not to take it even though I was pretty nervous. My mom was with me though and she did the procedure with the same doctor as well and kept saying I would be fine. It was finally my turn and they took me into a room where I was handing a stuffed animals to hold onto and a blanket since it was really cold in there. I was given numbing drops and then after a few minutes moved to another room where the doctor got to doing his thing. I remember it being blurry and it would go white. I could not see anything, but it was so quick and there was no pain at all. It probably took a total of five minutes since I left the waiting room. I was then brought out to a sitting area that was dark where an assistant put coverings over my eyes and some sunglasses to block the light. I was also given eyedrops to take for the next few days. I went home and just slept the whole day because they don't really want you looking at any lights or using the computer, phones, or tv. I woke up the next day and I could see! It was a little cloudy, but I was already warned of that. I went on to do my daily things and the cloudiness went away after day 3. Ever since then I can see perfectly and have not had any problems. Definitely happy with the procedure and tell everyone to do it! The only negative I had was that I had a followup scheduled and when I showed up the office was closed. I tried to call and no one answered and never heard from them trying to find out if I was okay or to schedule another appointment when I just had the procedure and was new to this.

Glad u had good results! I am thinking about getting it but I'm scared because I've read some terrible reviews. Are you still able to see well at night? Also, do you ever have dry eyes or see halos like some people do after LASIK?

HI I also had eye surgery with Lasik MD. I had one eye done which was agreed upon because of my prescription (wasnt very strong). I had some dry eye but it seems to be correcting itself with eye drops. I am so glad I had this procedure. I checked out several eye surgeons and found Lasik MD to be very professional, calming, caring and convenient. Their followup was astounding...cost for one eye was 1335.00 which included 1 year enchancement program..plus cost of eye drops..plus cost for lodging and food because of distance from my home. At 67 years old I had the same questions and concerns...I was assured I couldnt go blind...and percentages of any problems were very low. Hope it helps.

I have astigmatism and it wasn't able to get rid of that so I've always seen halos so that didn't go away. I can see at night except it's harder when I'm driving and theres a lot of lights from other cars, but that's always been a problem for me even before LASIK. I don't have dry eyes and I see fine. It's been around two years since I've had it done and everything's still okay.
Welcome to the community! So glad your surgery was a success. You should encourage your mom to share her story as well. All the best to you.
