Wanted to Fix Asymmetry and Narrow Alar Base

I noticed in pictures that my nostrils weren't even on both sides and while it wasn't extremely noticeable it bothered me enough to e-mail a few plastic surgeons to get quotes on how much an alarplasty would be. I'm asian so my nasal base is naturally flat and wide. I watched a few alarplasty videos on youtube and figured it was a simple procedure and have practically no downtime so I could get back to work right away. I almost gave up when I got back quotes of $4,000 to $5,200. I was willing to give up 1 or 2 months of rent but not 4 to 5 months. My nose didn't bother me that much and we're not talking about a few hundred dollars this is a few thousand. I also received a bait and switch pricing from one plastic surgeon when I went in for a consultation. It looked like the front desk quoted me a price that the plastic surgeon didn't authorize. That was a huge annoyance and waste of time. Then Crystal the patient coordinator for Dr. Richard Westreich reached out to me and told me they were running a 15% off December promotion. I checked out the before and after pictures on their website and was skeptical since the alarplasty done on previous patients were very subtle which wasn’t what I was looking for. Nonetheless, I scheduled time off work and booked a consultation. Dr. Westreich. Wow he was such a nice surprise from what I expected from a plastic surgeon. It seemed like being extremely arrogant, brusque, and condescending were all traits plastic surgeons had. I had one plastic surgeon interrogate me on my employment, what address I worked at, and even whether my boyfriend knew I was considering plastic surgery. All of the above are awfully invasive personal questions and none of your business. Dr. Westreich on the other hand was extremely patient, calm, funny and best of all no questions about how much I made. Sorry I’m not starring on Housewives of Beverly Hills. Dr. Westreich spent an hour going over what I wanted and I showed him pictures of a few noses I liked. He was honest and told me my results probably wouldn’t look the same since the tip of my nose wasn’t the same as the noses I showed him. I was disappointed but decided to book the surgery due to how comfortable I was with him. He noticed the asymmetry I had right off the bat and said he would take 1mm more off my right nostril to correct it. I also emphasized I didn’t want a hardly noticeable change and he reassured me that my nasal base would be smaller and it would show up in pictures. Friday was my surgery date I went into the office and had numbing cream applied. Then Dr. Westreich and Debbie (his assistant) injected local anesthesia, this part was the most painful part of surgery. Debbie and Dr. Westreich were joking around and making last minute preparations. And in an hour I was done. I went out and finalized payment to Aussie and said good-bye to Crystal and took the train home. So far it’s the 3rd day and I’m quite happy with how it turned out. My nostrils are finally symmetric and pretty close to the pictures I showed Dr. Westreich during consultation.
