SO happy I did this!!
WORTH IT$8,000
I cannot express how happy I am and how great I feel!! This whole BR experience has been pretty darn easy :). I am still sore, but can tell the soreness gets less and less each day. The bottom part of my breasts are numb, have no sensation in my right nipple and hypersensitivity in the left nipple but the tension and pain in my neck and shoulders is completely GONE. All worth it!! Got my stitches removed on Sept 8 and it was quick and relatively painless. I felt nothing with removal of each stitch on the T juncture, I felt a little sting and tug with removal of each stitch on the side of each breast. Really, it was a breeze!! PS was very pleased w/my progress. There was some glue still on the area coming from my nipples to T juncture and she said to leave it alone, made me betadine swab twice/day for one more week. At that appt she said she really didn't want me to exercise for another week mainly for the sweating part and bacteria. So, I started power walking with my 75lb dog this weekend. It felt good!! Will start up some yoga and moderate cardio next. Sleeping has become easier, even rolling to my sides hugging a pillow has been doable! I found a super comfy soft bra at walmart and took a picture of. It comes in lots of colors and is made by Hanes. It was about $8 and I really need to go back and get some more! Started using the scar cream my PS included in her "goody bag" called Biocorneum scar supervision. I am pretty certain it's expensive, since the PS sells it in her office as well. Will likely buy some cream at the drugstore when finished with the expensive stuff she included. Overall, I am feeling fabulous and loving my new breasts!! I keep grabbing them (mainly for the pressure and to monitor the soreness) and keep staring at them in the mirror! I guess i still can't believe they are mine :).

Feeling good :)
My first post-op was last Tuesday the 2nd. Got my drains removed and it really was not as bad as I was anticipating. I was nervous about the removal since the exit sites of the drains were so sore at that point. I stupidly took some pain meds before the appt and i didn't need it at all....instead, I got super nauseated from the 30-min car ride to the PS office so i felt like crap during the appt (DOH!!). PS said I was looking great healing-wise and had me continue swabbing my incisions twice/day with the betadine sticks she provided me before surgery. My sweet husband ran out to get me some dramamine for the ride home while I waited at a restaurant next to the PS office ;). Nausea was gone by then so we had a nice lunch before heading home. The healing is going great, exit sites from drains are still a little sore and some of the surgical glue has started to come off. I went back to work on Wednesday the 3rd and other than feeling a bit more tired by the end of a work day, I have managed 3 full days of work so far without a hitch (hooray)!! Finished my last day of betadine swabbing today and tomorrow I see my PS to get my stitches removed. More pictures to come :)

good news and your update confirms what i am always saying about pain meds, better to get off them asap as they make you feel far worse.

Day 4 post op
Feeling good, no pain meds :). New pic shows more bruising, still have drains in (getting removed on tues). Going to see a movie with my 5-year old and husband today....first outing since surgery. Second "sitting" shower felt awesome this morning. Still prefer the surgery bra (veronique brand size medium) or the cheap walmart zip front (genie bra size medium) over a loose bigger soft bra. Something about feeling compressed is comforting right now...maybe having the drains?

You do look great! How did you tolerate the outing? I'm glad you shared that compression feels better right now. That helps me with my planning!

Hi Boobeez! Thanks so much! The movie outing turned into movie, shoe purchase for my son and husband and dinner. It felt good getting out of the house, but I was really pooped when I got home. I noticed when I was walking around Academy looking at all the smaller workout tops and bras I felt a little lightheaded. I was really excited walking through the isles looking back and forth so maybe all that excitement, heat from outside and recovery gave me a little head fuzziness. I wasn't too concerned, but typically that sort of movement/errand wouldn't have bothered me. I just keep reminding myself (as well as my husband) that I am still recovering so I have to take it easy. I am still using an 8x10 pad to cover each breast and I found that cutting the thicker 8x10 pad and making a small square to give me extra padding where my drains exit is more comfy than gauze. You may not have drains, so you may not have that issue. I find the drains are the most irritating part, but I am getting them removed tomorrow!! Hooray!! Good luck to you!!!

I won't have drains- I bought maxi pads to help pad the incisions. How did your drain removal go? I'm sure you'd feel better after that! I'm planning to just chill at home and recover- but we'll see how long I do that before cabin fever sets in!

Fabulous, I love normal, easy recovery stories as people with problems tend to post more and it can make complications, pain etc look for more common than it is.
