9 year anniversary

Hello! It has been nine years since I had my implants put in. They still look and feel pretty good for the most part. I do have some aches and pains every now and again, especially after a heavy work out. I think Dr. Michelle Cooper did an amazing job explaining the process, the surgery and the follow up after. I do remember being in the office when she suggested a smaller size and there were many times over the years I do wish I wouldn't have gone as big. I was always petit and having such a big change made me uncomfortable at times. I would find myself avoiding low cut shirts or anything that would accentuate my breasts. After nine years, I have decided to explant my implants. I moved to a new state, so going back to Dr. Cooper isn't an option. I live in an area where there are several really great doctors to choose from. I had four in person consultations and decided on Dr. Young Cho of Integrated Aesthetics. After looking at pictures of explants, I was very nervous (and, yes, still vain) about not having a little something there. This Thursday, I will be undergoing an explant with fat transfer to breast with reverse abdominoplasty. I do not want to have my implants replaced because I do not want to go back in for surgery in another 10 to 15 years. I hope to update here on the surgery and recovery to help anyone else who wants to know what the recovery and results are like.

I haven't updated in quite a while, but everything...

I haven't updated in quite a while, but everything is going well! The first week post op was pretty tough, but every day after has been going really well. They're evening out and I'm happy with the size. It's nice to fill out clothes for the first time! It took a couple weeks for me to adjust to the change, but they feel like they're a part of me now. I'm getting back to the gym, but certain exercises freak me out a bit. It feels awkward doing push ups and I kind of feel like I'm babying my new boobies. Hope everyone else is doing well out there!

I'm now one week post op and feeling a lot better...

I'm now one week post op and feeling a lot better since the surgery. The first two days I was pretty out of it because of the pain killers. By the third morning I decided to stop taking them because I hated the way they made me feel. I was dizzy and unfocused and really didn't like the feeling. That meant the next two days were rough. For me, the third day and fourth day post op were very uncomfortable and I was impatient and miserable. I thought I would be ok to drive five days post op, and even though I stopped taking medication three days earlier, I still felt too loopy to drive. Everyone is different, but it took me until today to feel confident to drive. That being said, every day that goes by, the better I feel. I can't wait to see how my breasts look once they fall into place. They are still high and I now how to wear the dreaded strap for three hours a day. I didn't have to wear it right after surgury and I didn't have to wear a bra after the first 24 hours. I still wear it though because it's what is most comfortable.
