Been to see my nurse today and she's pleased with how I look. The hole is healing up and is nearly sorted so I'm over the moon. I've been set back a couple of weeks but I'm so happy that it is nearly healed. Can't wait to start back in the gym and back to my routine. X

update on infection
So the infection opened up the hole even more and i really panicked. I was covering up the area with a gauze and then a big dressing. (Changing them everyday) but on Sunday i noticed the dressing was irritating my skin so had nochoice to leave it off overnight and i thought this would be ok as i was in to see the nurse Monday morning anyway. Woke up and it actually looked better than it had done all weekend. The nurse seemed to think it was fine so packed it with something else and taped that over it rather than using the previous type of dressing. She seemed to think it was looking good and said the infection had cleared and we had caught it in time. This dressing stays on until Saturday and I finish my antibiotics tomorrow so unfortunately I won't be able to tell if thehole has healed up or started to heal until she takes it off on Saturday. Fingers crossed it had because I really don't want any complications. My nurse has been amazing and can not fault her in any shape or form. I have been seen as many times as i want and at a time that has suited me. Over the moon with the service but just hope that I heal well.
I'll upload a pic on Saturday if i can manage to take one. I did take pics all weekend but they are really gross and actually make me feel sick to look at them as it looks that bad so won't put anyone through that! Hope everyone's ok and healing well x

Just to remind you I'm 3 days behind you.
My wound was healing so well then at 4 week 3 small red areas one opened up saw Dr. And nurse who explained that some of the deep dissolvable sutures hadn't dissolved and my body was rejecting then, the cut them out and put me on antibiotics.
I have to dress the 3 spots and see him next week,
Athetise feeling great and scare looks fab.

What a bummer, so sorry. Keep smiling, the antibiotics will do their job, it's just a little set back. It will all be worth it!!

Am fine thank you mine is monday. Having a busy weekend which is keeping my mind of things. Cant wait for it to be over and i wake up and face d recovery road. Is there anything they said that triggered off the infection? Ot it just happens? Ur strong u'll be fine. Sending u best wishes xx
