So for years & years i've been upset about the size of my areola. No partners have ever mentioned the size of them, but they repulsed me so it bothered me showing them to anyone else in case they thought they was horrible. I've researched areola reduction for a while & before booking the procedure i had a consultation for a reduction, but then realised i'm not all that bothered about a reduction the main concern is the size of my areola. & if that was smaller the over all look of my boobs would be better.
So, the procedure was pretty simple. Local anaesthetic, not painful but could definitely feel a tugging sensation throughout, from the stitching & cutting of my areola. It only took about an hour & half & i was done, dressings on, on my way home.
The first few days i felt a bit tender & sore. I was advised not to do any exercise or anything too vigorous so i took it easy for a few days.
My surgeon gave me some dressings to change, so 3 days after my surgery i washed & changed my dressings & everything was looking great. Still sore but i was happy. My breasts also looked perkier
I was happy until about a week an half ago when i noticed one nipple is healing noticeable larger than the other. My right areola looks near enough healed with an alright scar, the left is a lot smaller & puckered (i was warned about this) I'm due to see my surgeon tomorrow for a follow up appointment so hopefully he can give me more info on whether they're going to stay like this or not (ill upload pics)
Hopefully the puckered areola will settle & match the other if not i won't be happy with this surgery & will probably have to have it redone

So i went to see my surgeon today for a follow up appointment. I told him about my queries about the puckered left nipple & he said it's nothing to be concerned about at all & over time it will settle & everything is looking great. I'm scheduled for another appointment in 3 months time

Hey! I’m curious to see how your reduction held up? I’m looking to have the same procedure since sadly the first time around it didn’t work with impermanent sutures. :(

Hi! So just over a year post op. My areoloas seem to have spread more. & more weight loss resulted in more of a sag in my boobs. I’m looking to get a lift & implants in the future cos not really happy with the over all look. My scars are quite visible & uneven from the areola reduction, I probably wouldn’t recommend & wish I’d have waited for a full lift & implants
