The Best Decision I've Ever Made - Aftab Ahmed - Manchester, GB

I've always hated my nose from the side. From the front it's never been THAT bad but from the side (all angle changing rooms, camera phones taking unexpected pictures, standing side on next to someone at a bar etc) I couldn't stand to look at it. The bump, bulbous tip and slightly droopy tip. So I booked in for a consultation at Transform and actually had a visit with a patient coordinator the same day. My patient coordinator ran through all my concerns with me and booked me in with Aftab Ahmed as she thought that he was best for the job. I was a little bit wary as I could not find any reviews for Mr Ahmed online but after I met him and had seen his work, I was very much sold. His work is fantastic and I felt very comfortable with him - definitely glad I trusted my gut instinct! Transform were brilliant allowing me to book in for extra consultations with Mr Ahmed as I had so many questions running through my mind that I just wanted answers to before I finally booked in. The patient coordinator gave me a few dates in which I could book in with Mr Ahmed for the surgery. She left this with me for a few days and contacted me to see if I wanted to go ahead with any of the dates. At no point did I feel pressured to book. She ran through the payment options and how much the treatment would cost. Everything was extremely clear which I was very appreciative of as it's a big thing booking something that will change your physical appearance, so it was good to have everything spelled out to me before I had made my decision. On the day of the surgery I arrived at Transform, The Pines at around 11am. I was shown to my room and met with the ward staff, the anaesthetist and my surgeon. All members of staff were very reassuring and I was very comfortable and excited for my surgery!!! My surgery was due to take an hour and a half but actually took two hours. This is really reassuring that the surgeon did not rush this and took the time to ensure everything was perfect. After waking up from my surgery, the ward staff were very attentive at changing my dressings etc. They were very chatty which was really nice as I think its quite daunting having an operation and staying in overnight. The first evening - I couldn't eat a thing as my throat was too dry. I slept considerably well after my surgery. The nurse went through all the aftercare with me, prepared my pack (gauze, tape, cleaning solution etc) and discharged me at around half 9. My recovery at home was better than I had expected. I was very tired for a while but it was good to stay at home on the sofa watching box sets. I experienced no pain, only slight throbbing sensations at the tip of my nose. My bruising was very very minimal. Everything about my operation has gone perfectly - better than I could have ever imagined. I had my cast off a week after the operation. My nose swelled up a bit more but quickly went down again. When I had my cast off, I will admit I did cry!! I was so overwhelmed and happy with my decision! I have had my four week follow up and Mr Ahmed explained to me that I had a deviated septum and my nose was slightly more aligned to the right. He also explained that one nostril was slightly higher than the other. He rectified both these problems in the surgery which was fantastic as we hadn't initially discussed these in the consultation. Overall - my experience with Transform has been amazing and I would not hesitate to recommend them or Aftab Ahmed to anybody. If you are thinking about rhinoplasty - do it !! It's the best decision i've ever made.
