Plication of Diastasis Recti Using Laparoscopy (Keyhole)

After having useless consultations with plastic surgeons, General Surgeons and Hernia Surgeons in Glasgow Scotland UK I found Prof Sheen via a colleague of his called Dr Brian Jacobs. I saw Dr Jacobs youtube clip of keyhole surgery used to repair diastasis recti at his New York clinic and immediately contacted him to get a UK contact. Prof Sheen, based in Manchester UK saw me straight away and determined he could repair my diastasis recti and umbilical hernia using key hole surgery. The Prof was very clear about what to expect as I had strong abdominal muscles, little abdominal fat and hardly any loose skin. The incisions were kept close to my c-section. I wore a drain for the first week and an abdominal binder for 4 weeks. I am still wearing the binder after the 4 weeks as I feel it gives me core stability while I run around after my children.

I'm now in week 7 and started at the gym during week 5 initially with an abdominal binder. I now do light cardio workout a binder. I'm feeling more sensation over my abdomen but it's numb in places. I still have a Seroma on the right hand side. I hope my tummy will look flatter with time and reduced swelling. Sometimes I wonder if I should have had a TT for a more flattering tummy.
