Male Double Eyelid Surgery in Korea

I wanted to share my experience having surgery at Hyundai Aesthetics Plastic Surgery in Korea.
I spent awhile doing research and finally decided to take the plunge this summer for a first time double eyelid surgery. I first contemplated doing this in Japan since I live in Tokyo, but ultimately I decided Korea was the place to go.
I browsed a lot of sites, forums and blogs and kept hearing good things about Hyundai Aesthetics, so I decided to reach out and check it out for myself.
I got a hold of their patient consultant named Sky. She helped me go over my basic options and showed my photos to Dr Hwang.
Dr Hwang is the main surgeon and does eye, nose and lifting surgery, but his speciality and focus seems to be eye lid surgery especially, for revision cases.
Even though I'm a guy, I wanted to have more of what a lot women seem to describe as the dolly-look, which is more wide and awaken then sleepy looking.
On the day of my face to face consultation everything went pretty smoothly and I sat down with Sky and Dr Hwang and she helped me to interpret. He used some picks and instruments to sort of approximate what my new fold line would look like and then once we were on the same page, and I got some questions and concerns out of the way the next step was scheduling and pricing.
There were no really surprises about the price and it was in line with that I have already researched, so I decided to go forward and book the surgery the next day.
It was performed under local, meaning you are awake but don't feel anything, although it can be uncomfortable at times. After the surgery I rested in a recovery room with an ice pack on my eyes for about an hour.
I stayed at the hospital for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, and then took a taxi back to my airbnb.
I had two follow up appointments and then my stitches were removed on the 7th day.
Some time has passed now since the surgery and so far, I'm happy with the results and expect the shape to get better and better as the recovery progresses.
Dr Hwang and Sky as well the nurses were very friendly and I had a good experience, and would recommend this hospital. It's not a big fancy place, but its just right and didn't feel too busy or rushed.
