How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

Gynecomastia Surgery: 27, 6'2, 180lb
I am 27, 6'2, and 180 lbs. I have battled gynecomastia since puberty and have tried working out and losing weight even though I am pretty lean but it never really changed much. I was inspired one day to do some research and I finally took the plunge and set-up consultations with a few surgeons. Dr. Dadvand was the second surgeon I consulted with and there was a HUGE difference between the two. When you find the surgeon that is right, you will know right a way.
Dr. Dadvand is a one of a kind surgeon. He is personable, down to earth, and very compassionate. He understands how nerve-wrecking the whole procedure can be and makes you feel very comfortable throughout.
My procedure involved excision and liposuction. The only pain associated with the recovery was that of the drains. The drain inserts the body at an incision in the armpit and I found it to be quite irritating. My drains stayed in for 5 days and my bandage stayed on for 7 days.
I didn't get to see the result at all during the first week because I had such a thick bandage on under the compression vest. When the bandage came off I was kind of in shock. I didn't even recognize myself. After I got home, I took my shirt off and looked at my chest in the mirror and couldn't believe it.
It has truly been life changing. I now walk around with more confidence. I don't think twice about taking off my shirt and how what type of shirt I am going to wear will or will not hide my chest well. The biggest thing has been learning to stand up straight now because I am so used to hunching over to hide my chest.
I read a TON of reviews, watched a TON of youtube videos, and did a lot of research before I made the final plunge. For all the lurkers out there who are reading this but too embarrassed to do it, my biggest piece of advice would be to go for it. You will not regret it and it will change your life.
I am currently 5 weeks post-op and compression vest free. I am cleared to start working out and slowly get back into chest exercises. My nipples are still hyper-sensitive from the surgery but that will decrease with time.
Dr. Dadvand couldn't have made the whole process any smoother and I am so glad I went with him. I am not from the LA area so I did my consultation over Skype. He welcomes patients from all over and is willing to do Skype consults. I encourage all of you to consider him as one of your top choices no matter where you live. I promise you won't regret it.
