I am a mother to three beautiful girls ages 9, 6...
I am a mother to three beautiful girls ages 9, 6 & 5. My 5 & 6 year old are only 360 days a part so my body never got the chance to recover. I am 29 years old, 5' 8.5" tall and 130 lbs. I am married to a wonderful, loving and very supportive husband. Prior to have kids I weighed 102 lbs and wore a size 0-2 and a 34C. Now I wear a 4-6 and a 34C, but I have lost volume in the upper part of my breasts. I had my belly button pierced when I was 18 and when I found out I was expecting I removed my ring. Now I hate my belly button!!! I have not worn a bathing suit in 5 years. Actually, I do not even own one. I hate to go shopping now because I am so self conscious of my tummy. I had my consult today with Dr. McClendon in Macon, GA. My husband went with and I am so glad he did! I basically let De. McClendon tell me what I needed because he is the expert. :) So, here is what he planned for me:
Breast augmentation with Saline under the muscle (420 cc; I will go from a 34C to a 34D)
Modified (mini) Tummy Tuck with repair of an umbilical hernia (I never even knew I had a hernia)
Liposuction of the abdomen and flanks
Dr. McClendon answered all of mine and my husband's questions. He spent a lengthy amount of time with us. I felt very comfortable with him. Two of my friends have used him...one had a breast augmentation and the other had lipo, breast lift, breast augmentation, full tummy tuck and a nose job....they both highly recommended him!
I have always put my husband and kids needs before mine. I am currently an LPN and I graduate in December 2012 with my RN so I thought a mommy makeover would be a wonderful graduation present. Now, after hearing the cost of my procedure I feel like its too much money to spend on myself. I really want it done so I can feel better about myself, but $16,000 is a lot of money!!! I do have BCBS of GA POS health insurance and Dr. McClendon's office is going to file a claim for the hernia repair, but after I have surgery. I want to know up front how much my insurance is going to pay so I will know how much I will have to pay out of pocket.
Dr. McClendon told me my incision for the modified tummy tuck will not be any longer than a c-section incision. I had all 3 of my kids natural. He said I will have only one drain and a pain pump. He also said he would be able to suture my entire abdominal wall and give me a new belly button (that was music to my ears)!! He choose saline for my implants because he said I still have a moderate amount of breast tissue and that I only lost volume in the portion of my breasts. He also selected the size (420 cc). The implants will be inserted via the crease of my breasts and under the muscle. He told me that going under the muscle will allow me to have a lift in the future if needed. My surgery will be around 4-5 hours long and I will go home afterwards. He said I would need help around the house for roughly 10-14 days because I will not be able to pick up anything over 10 lbs.
I am excited and want the surgery done, but I guess I've got to digest the cost of it first. My husband and I are going to talk about the financial part and weigh out all of my options. We live 2.5 hours away from our family so we are going to also have to make arrangements for someone to come up and help me out because my husband works 6-7 days a week. This is a lot to process!! It is also kind of overwhelming!!
