Hey everyone! I recently discovered RealSelf as I...

Hey everyone! I recently discovered RealSelf as I was desperately searching for reviews & opinions on laser tattoo removal & I can honestly say it helped me so much! Of course, there are going to be mixed opinions but I made the decision for myself to follow through with starting my journey of getting my tattoo removed!
So I'll start by briefly trying to explain the background of my tattoo & why I'm getting it removed. About 3 years ago when I was almost 19 (I'm 21 now) I got my first tattoo. In fact, it's my ONLY tattoo! It was one of those things that I did without giving it much thought at all. In my mind I tried to justify it by telling myself that it had a meaning behind it & making up this elaborate story as to why I got it & wanted it, but in reality I just thought it would look cool. Haha! I was horribly mistaken.. & anyone that knows me personally would tell you that I am the last person anyone would expect to have a tattoo! Just because it's not my style, it dosent suit me. The day I got it, I went home, looked in the mirror & immediately thought to myself, "Regret. I regret this so badly." All I wanted was to get in the shower, scrub it off, & pretend like it never happened. But unfortunately tattoos are permanent & you can't just "scrub it off". This was before I knew much of anything about laser tattoo removal so I just accepted the fact that I was going to have to live with this. But recently I began to do more research on it & was so relieved to find that it is possible for me to have this stamp of regret removed! Although painful & expensive, I believe it will be worth it in the end. I feel very optimistic & hopeful that with consistency & following the doctors orders, I will have success. So when I tell you to really think before you get a tattoo, I mean REALLY think about it.. take it from someone who knows first hand. & when you think you've thought about it enough, think about it some more. Don't just get one because you think it will look cool, like I did. I still think tattoos are awesome, they just don't look awesome on me. I didn't just get some small tattoo either.. this is a fairly large tattoo considering it's my one & only tattoo.
Moving on... yesterday was my first laser tattoo removal session. I spent a good few months doing research on different places I could get it removed but finally settled on this one place. I also knew it would be expensive so I have been saving for quite some time now to have this done. I chose someone who is reputable & knows what she's doing. Although she may be a little more pricy than other options I could have chosen, she's very clean, professional, well educated, experienced, & she also did a wonderful job at making me feel comfortable & educating me on the process & laser she was going to use. I felt nervous walking in but my nerves were quickly settled after meeting her. The process was quick but it could have been quicker had I not asked her to break so many times haha! It wasn't a painless procedure, that's for sure! But it's going to be so worth it, I just know it! I'm going to begin posting my journey on here in the hopes that I can help someone else out there who may be going through what I went through for 3 years leading up to this journey. I'll try & update as much as I can! If any of you have questions or want more specifics of the removal process, healing process, etc. leave a comment & I will be glad to answer them for you as quickly as I can!
The photos attached are right before my first session, right after, & a few hours after. Like I said, I just had my first session yesterday so there isn't too much to update on at the moment. But I will post as soon as there is something to update on!

TATTOO REMOVAL SESSION #2!!

Hey all! Yesterday (7/24/17) I had my second laser tattoo removal. I had to admit, I was convinced that this was going to be a horrible process & I wasn't gonna have the patience to stick it out. But after the first session I haven't had a hard time at all! I'm sure I will have my moments where I'll lose hope & feel like this is never ending but for the most part I have accepted that it's all a process & with time I will be where I want to be. :) Here are a few pics! Also, this session was surprisingly less painful than the first. I only asked her to stop once & only because the leaf closer to my hip bone is where it bites the most.
