I have always been insecure of my body since I was in high school. I became pregnant at 17 and gained 90 pounds during my pregnancy. (I am only 5'1" and I was 130 pounds to begin with) My son weighed 10 pounds 13 ounces at birth so you can imagine the shape my body was left in. I was covered in stretch marks and A TON of loose skin. I managed to get down to about 145 pounds before my procedure. Along with the loose skin, I also lost a lot of the "perkiness" I guess you could say, in my breasts because of breast feeding.

I was a 38A cup to begin with and I am now a 36DDD. (Measured at Victoria's Secret.) I had 680 cc's moderate silicone implants put in. We decided to go with a larger implant because of the size of my frame and the fact that I have a larger chest space between breasts. My incision is completely healed without scabs. The scar feels hard and raised but it honestly feels worse than it looks. I feel as though my breasts have "dropped" a lot since my procedure. They also aren't swollen anymore and they are becoming a lot softer to the touch. My doctor gave me the "okay" at 2 weeks post-op that I no longer have to wear a bra. Before my procedure I used to sleep braless but even though I have been cleared to not wear one, I find it very uncomfortable to sleep without some type of sports bra. I also find that my breasts are swollen when I wake up in the morning, if I haven't worn some type of bra to bed.

Along with the breast augmentation I also had a tummy tuck with liposuction throughout my sides and the sides of my back. I will post a photo of my tummy tuck scar at my 6 week post-op mark. As of today (27 days post-op) I am healing beautifully. The scar is somewhat raised in certain places. I have been wearing micropore tape that my doctor had given me, across the incision. He recommended for me to buy the silicone gel sheet for my new belly-button area but he said to just use the micropore tape for the tummy tuck scar. (He said that he doesn't find the silicone sheets make much of a difference in the outcome of the scar. So rather than spending close to $100 for the silicone sheets, you can just save the money and use the tape.) There are a few "hard" spots where the lipo was done but my doctor said they will go away within the next year of recovery.

I watched a ton of Youtube videos of women who underwent the mommy makeover and what I had found was the majority of these women said how horrible the healing process was and how much pain they were in. My procedure was done on a Friday afternoon. Friday evening when I went home I wasn't in much pain. I just felt very sore. Saturday and Sunday were honestly the worst two days of my recovery. I was prescribed Percocet 5mg and Dilaudid 2.5mg. I only took the Dilaudid because the Percocet didn't seem to keep up with my pain during Saturday and Sunday. I had to take two of the Dilaudids faithfully, every 3-4 hours. My doctor prescribed me to take 1 every 4-6 hours but it wasn't keeping up with my pain. I called Sunday afternoon to the on-call doctor and he gave me the "okay" to take the two Dilaudids as needed. **By Tuesday evening I was completely off ALL pain meds! I only took an ibuprofen before bed so I was able to sleep more comfortably! (That is what I mean by easy recovery!)** Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I was completely unable to sit up, sit down, adjust myself, pretty much anything that requires some sort of physical movement that used my body- chest down, by myself. I had my Mom and boyfriend help me with pretty much everything. They had to even put a chair in the bathtub and help give me a shower. (Once my drains were removed I was able to give myself a shower.) Saturday evening I had to change my compression garment because the incision where the doctor did the liposuction had started to leak. (he said that it is completely normal for it to leak!!) When the garment was completely off, I thought I was going to pass out. I had to immediately sit down and drink water. I became very nauseas as well. I felt a lot more comfortable actually wearing the garment. I have also read about women having to wear a binder. I didn't have a binder. Mine was basically like spanks. So starting Monday I literally started to feel better and was able to do a little more each day after. The saying holds true: "each day gets a little easier". I had to sleep in a pretty much upright position on the couch for the first 2 weeks. It wasn't until about a week and a half ago that I started to sleep in my own bed in a flat position. I am now able to sleep slightly on my side again but I have to be extra careful while positioning myself onto my side. At 2 and a half weeks my doctor cleared me from wearing my compression garment. I continue to wear it for the rest of the week and then I stoppe. I can now officially stand straight up! This was around 3 weeks post op!

Overall I have nothing but fantastic things to say about my doctor, the outcome, and the entire experience as a whole! I don't have a single complaint! I was unbelievably shocked at how easy the recovery was. I know that every person is different and the way they heal is different but for me, I thought it was a piece of cake! I would do everything again in a heartbeat!

You really do look great! I'm so glad your recovery went pretty well and you feel that it was all well worth it! Thanks for posting your story. I know everyone is different and its very important to be informed and prepared so I was on here reading a lot for a few weeks, but I was getting nutso about spending the money on myself and fear of pain and a miserable recovery. Your story is a really nice one. Hope things have continued to get better and better for you.
