Update and pics

My nose still feels a bit stiff and tender to the touch. I still can't completely smile. I got the cast off 10 days ago. My skin was dry and peeling for a few days afterward. Not much swelling though. Dr. Byrne didn't even have me taping it. I'm still being careful with sodium and alcohol consumption which I think is helping. I'm cleaning with a nasal flush kit pretty frequently. Kind of messy but gets all the goo out lol

So far, I am ecstatic with my results! I still can't believe this is my nose! I'm breathing so much better with these amazing nostrils!! I can't even see a scar, it's completely gone. This experience has by far exceeded my expectations.

Got my cast off today!!

I am SO HAPPY with my results!!! Still a bit stiff feeling but I could not be happier with the improvement I already see. Even with the swelling, it fits my face better, much less projected and no bump!

The process of removing the cast was pretty painless, but the adhesive removal burned my skin a bit. Getting the splints taken out MEGA SUCKED. No joke, the most uncomfortable part of this entire endeavor was yanking those things out.

First 3 days update

Day 1: Kind of a blur. Woke up from anesthesia, had some applesauce and water, not much pain at all. Went home and slept for about 4 hours. I've needed pain meds about every 4 hours thus far. I went through 1 gauze and no more bleeding afterwards. Surprisingly, I can breathe! No packing and only a splint in my right nostril.

Day 2: I don't have much of an appetite but cold pineapples are heaven! Still taking pain meds about every 4 hours but I'm not experiencing much pain, just discomfort really. I took a bath, it was amazing! Had to be careful not to get the cast wet so my Mom helped me wash my hair. She's been an angel. I didn't realize how much help I would need. Arnica tablets and arnica gel seem to work magic with swelling/bruising.

Day 3: I could not sleep last night. My stomach was irritated I think because I haven't been eating enough. I forced in a protein shake and went for a short walk. It was great to get some fresh air. My nostrils look so different already. They are so much more open than before. I can't wait to get this cast off!
