Lovin’ my new lips!

I just had my lip lift completed a few hours ago, and so far everything is a breeze! Since I only needed the middle part of my upper lip lifted (i.e., I already had good lateral height on my upper lift), we decided against the full bullhorn lip lift! This is the reason I don’t have stitches on the side of my nose!

I have some swelling in my lip and nose, but nothing too bad! I was a little nervous going into the procedure but the Percocet and Xanax and Dr. R’s calm demeanor definitely helped relax me. I wish I would have asked about a Zofran prescription ahead of time bc the Percocet did make me a little nauseous despite eating breakfast (oatmeal).

Time to ice!

Boy, when I was reading reviews on here leading up to my procedure, I started to experience some anxiety! Mainly, I was dreading the recovery period—worrying about hiding and constantly looking in the mirror looking for any little flaw. Thank goodness I haven’t experienced any of this! I cannot believe how quickly I’m healing. I hardly have swelling today (1 day post op) and my stitches are already starting to itch a bit—like they’re healing(?). I have been following a vegan diet (with ample protein from a variety of plant sources) with minimal processed foods for the past year, so I’m thinking that is a mediating factor!

And I’m not being reclusive! I have already walked around a Walgreen’s, and I joined my hotel’s complimentary breakfast with no surgical mask! Now hanging out with acquaintances or going to work—that will need to way a week or so! I’ve shown photos to my close friends and they cannot believe how good my lips look and how clean Dr. Rodriguez’s work looks!

Also, I’ve had very little pain. As soon as I start to experience moderate discomfort, I eat, take one Percocet, and go to sleep! I only took 2 Percocets yesterday (day of surgery) and 1 today!

At any rate, I’m in love! This is EXACTLY what I wanted! I had been considering a lip lift since 2012—I can’t believe I waited this long!

Swelling is minimal and stitches look all right! Also, my nose cartilage was already a bit asymmetrical—not caused by surgery—baby I was born this way! ... and no, I haven’t taken any of the Xanax (prescribed by Dr. Rodriguez) today! lol I’m just naturally ecstatic with my results!
