41 years old. 5' 4" 125lbs. 2 kids & an ovarian cyst removal that left me with a c-section type scar & scar tissue.
I workout a lot & started lifting weights for the first time about a year ago. My body got tighter & looks better, but this tummy won't budge! So my husband finally agreed to a tummy tuck for me!
I'm scheduled for July 21!

Thank you! You are going to be so happy. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself! You will go through a lot of emotions and even second guess afterwards but in the end it is so worth it.

I feel like my body looks a lot like your before pics. I'm not getting my breasts done, but I am getting full TT, muscle repair & flanks lipoed! Did u notice any lift of your thighs after the TT?
User Avatar
July 9, 2017
I felt like yours looked similar to mine too. Actually I notice more now that my thighs seem like they need to be tighter. I lost a lot of weight so I have loose skin and it never really bothered me in my legs before until now. I think because my belly is so tight now it makes my legs more obvious. I might try cool sculpting on them.

I've got stretch marks on my upper things (like right under my belly). They came from my pregnancies, I hope those get tucked up into the TT incision. Hahha I have heard a lot of people say their thighs and butt almost look bigger after a TT. I don't mind a bigger looking booty, but I don't want bigger thighs! Did you lose weight after the procedure? I read a lot of people saying they don't have an appetite because of the tightened muscles and the binder.

I weighed 120 the day of surgery and now weigh 116. I had absolutely no appetite right after and I now I don't eat nearly as much as I used too. My pubic area did get pulled tighter but not my thighs. I have lots of stretch marks on my thighs.

Hi, I am scheduled for a tummy tuck and lipo one week after you! I think we look a lot alike as far as our tummies. I am so excited! You will have to give me pointers after your surgery. I've really read a lot of good info on this sight. I'm excited for you! Not much longer!

I'm so excited I can barely sleep! Haha Our time is coming! Did u see the pain pump pic I posted? You should ask out dr about getting one of those. My dr said I should have NO PAIN from the procedure. Discomfort, but no pain.
July 11, 2017
I did see it. My pre op is this Thursday so I plan to ask him. What all have you purchased in preparation for the big day? Is there anything in particular you plan to use on your scars?
User Avatar
July 11, 2017
My doctor said she has something for scars. I'm not sure what it is, but she said she doesn't like Mederma. I bought a granny, sleeveless, button-up, super soft nightgown from Walmart. I plan on wearing that the first few days lol. My husband is gonna laugh so hard when he sees me in that thing! I think comfort will be VERY important for us. Do you have a recliner? I rented a lift recliner. $75/week. I'm having them put it in my bedroom!
July 11, 2017
Yes, I do have a rather large recliner. It doesn't rock just reclines. It sounds like I am going to be there for a week or so. I am only taking 11 days off from work, so I hope I can manage. I have a sit down desk job. The nurse said more than likely I will still have my drains when I return to work. Not sure how I feel about that since I work at a bank. I am going to order pineapple tea. I have heard that was great for swelling and inflammation.
User Avatar
July 11, 2017
I ordered pineapple tea also. I have also started eating fresh pineapple daily & Will continue after surgery. I ordered a hospital mug with a flexible straw from Amazon. We have to make sure we are drinking plenty of water & spilling it all over myself does not sound fun! I took three weeks off of work because I do hair. Standing and blowdrying Will probably be hard at first. One of my coworkers said she will blow dry my clients for me the first few days, if needed. I think 11 days for a sitdown job is fine, but if your drains are in can you shower? you cannot go back to work without a shower!!! My PS said I probably won't have my drains in that long because I am a small person. I think you might be the same way...?....
July 11, 2017
I'm going to have to ask about showering with drains. I'm hoping I will be able to get them out within my first few days of going back to work. Have you ordered or bought any compression garments? What about Bromelain?
User Avatar
July 11, 2017
I have been taking bromelain, but my doctor told me to stop before surgery. I forgot to ask why. So my doctor actually just has me in a Velcro binder for the first 6 days until I go to my postop appointment, then she will put me in the full garment for 6 weeks. She said she wants me wearing this one ONLY for six weeks, 24 hours a day, except to wash it and shower. But I've read quite a few reviews on here where people buy a different one after a few weeks. I will probably do that also. I've been looking on the spanx website. They have one that looks comfortable, but it's like $85. So I don't know if it's worth it. I'll never wear it again after recovery.
July 11, 2017
True! I will probably find out more at my pre op appt on Thursday about the garments. I am going to ask about the Bromelain as well.

Can't wait to hear what your doctor says. I'm getting a full TT, muscle repair & lipo on my flanks. Is that what your getting?
July 11, 2017
Yes, that's exactly what I'm getting! He mentioned maybe lipo across my back too. I am scheduled one week from you so we will have to keep in touch and give each other pointers. Is there a way I can follow you so I will know when you post?
User Avatar
July 11, 2017
I'm not sure exactly how this app works. But I think if you signed up with your email address you should get emails when anyone you have commented on updates. Are you going to post pics?
July 12, 2017
I can. I am actually using my work email address right now since I am at work during the day, but I will need to change that to my personal email the day before surgery. Do I just go to profile to upload pics?
User Avatar
July 12, 2017
Yes & you can go to review to post comments & more pics. I just posted a pic of the granny panties I just ordered hahah
July 12, 2017
I seen where to upload a profile pic, but do I upload other pics at the same place? I want to get my hubby to take them. If I take them they don't really show the full picture. I think our stomachs are very similar, and I turned 40 in April.
July 12, 2017
Did you order one or two boxes of the pineapple tea?
User Avatar
July 12, 2017
I ordered 2, I think it will be good to drink it for a while!
User Avatar
July 12, 2017
Your profile picture can only have one pic. To upload more pictures you have to do a full review
July 17, 2017
Which brand of Bromelain did you purchase? Did you purchase Arnica as well? It seems surgeons on this site have mixed feelings about whether either of these are beneficial. I know you are getting so excited! 3 days to go!!!!
User Avatar
July 17, 2017
I am SO EXCITED. My PS sold me multi vitamins that promote healing. They have bromelain in them. The brand is vitamedica. She prescribed xarelto for 10 days after surgery, so she doesn't want me taking bromelain at that time. I'm not taking arnica tablets, but I did but the Arnica gel.
July 17, 2017
I gotcha. My PS sells the Vitamedica in his office, but I didn't purchase when I was there last week. I figured I would order online if I decided to get. He didn't mention Xarelto. He only mentioned Bromelain and Arnica. The only thing about the gel is I wasn't sure if it would stay on since we will be wearing the compression garments.
User Avatar
July 17, 2017
What meds did he prescribe you for after surgery? Xarelto is a blood thinner, she wants me to take it for 10 days after surgery to prevent blood clots
July 17, 2017
Percocet, Phenergan, and Lovenox injections. The injections are to prevent blood clots I believe. He also prescribed Zofran to take the morning of surgery.
User Avatar
July 17, 2017
Did you ask about the pain pump?
July 17, 2017
I did, but they seemed to think I would be fine with the Percocet. I sure hope so. I am on the limb about whether I should order Bromelain or Arnica or both. Have you seen a lot of good reviews on here about them? The surgeons seem to have mixed reviews.
User Avatar
July 17, 2017
I think they are cheap enough to get both. It can't hurt! Ive read good reviews about both, but who really knows if they work. There's really know way to compare. Everyone heals differently & at their own pace. I think your ps is right about only needing Percocet. I'm happy to have the pain pump, just as an added measure... but my PS said I shouldn't feel pain. Definitely discomfort & but not PAIN. (Unless I sneeze) lol I think me might feel nauseous, irritated, isolated, itchy, stinky, useless & bored... but we shouldn't feel pain. Hahahah

Good luck with your upcoming surgery! You are going to have such a nice figure afterwards! What kind of cyst did you have removed? I had one as well and it was big and had to remove my ovary and Fallopian tube too. Small enough where I could have laparoscopic surgery. It was a dermoid cyst/teratoma.
User Avatar
July 10, 2017
It was a cyst that shredded my ovary! They thought it was the size of a tennis ball, & they they could remove it laparoscopic. When they got in there the cyst was lodged & it was the size of a grapefruit! So he called in another surgeon & they cut my open. When I woke up I was SHOCKED!! Needless to say, it left me with this "pudge" of scar tissue & a cut muscle. That was 4 years ago. I've done 5 billions sit ups since then. Nothing is working. So TT, here I come!
User Avatar
July 10, 2017
Oh my gosh! Mine was the size of a golf ball...I'm so glad they found it when they did. My cyst would have kept growing!
User Avatar
July 10, 2017
When they first found mine it was golf ball sized. It grew quickly! After that surgery my tummy was poking out. I went to the 6 week check up & showed the doctor. He said it will take 6 mo. For the swelling & to go completely away & the soft tissue to heal completely. It never did :((( I'm assuming it's because my muscles & skin had already been stretched during 2 pregnancies.
User Avatar

Oh geez! Well that problem is about to go away soon ;)

Just got home from post op. I'm even more excited! She went over ALL the info., I feel like I knew everything already from reading all the reviews on this site.
She gave me 4 prescriptions.
Painkiller
Anti-nausea
Antibiotics
Blood thinner
Muscle relaxer.
I tried on the tight garment. Ugh. I'm not looking forward to wearing that for six weeks. BUT she put me in a XS. I like that! haha.
Also, my doctor inserts a pain pump that's under the skin of my tummy & slow releases for 6 days (picture attached). She will take it out at my post op visit & I Will have my first lymphatic massage that day. HOPEFULLY I'll get the drains out that day too.
I'm on a 10 day countdown now!

I really feel good about my PS. I like that she give you a pain pump and that she offers the lymphatic massage included in the price. She also gives her personal cell phone # for after hour "important calls" She said don't call her at 2 AM to tell her you finally pooped. Hahaha
