Very Disappointing, Bad Aftercare .

I visited a very prominent surgeon re having a face lift . He said I should go away as I wouldn't see a lot of difference . He explained the loss of bone as we age, as well as the loss of fat in the face is something no surgeon can address 100%.
Still not happy I visited Dominic Bray a week later . He proclaimed he could certainly address my concern of dropping and mid face fat loss . Stupidly I signed up for a lower face lift and upper blep .

I requested an extra night at my expense as I knew I'd suffer with nausea . This wasn't available. The nurse explained after covid they were trying to catch up and some days had two operations going on.

Please note Mr Bray does not work out of Harley Street . He has a private clinic in Tunbridge Wells . Although beautiful I do question how safe it is.

My operation went ahead . The night nurse was excellent . That's where it ended. I was asked to leave my midday the following day. Having elected to stay in an Airbnb close by I ordered a taxi.

I was in terrible pain and the nausea was awful . Along with the discomfort I had received nerve damage to one side of my mouth making it droop down alarmingly, like I'd had a stroke .

Frightened, nauseous and in pain . I called Azure House to ask for stronger pain killers and more anti-nausea tablets.

They informed me I'd have to collect the medication as no one had a car to drop them to me although I was literally 5 minutes away . They suggested I paid for a taxi to collect and drop medication ! Appalling when I had just spent close to £30,000. Later in the week I had request more medication . Once again I had to pay for a taxi to deliver.

A very painfully harrowing week with major concerns my mouth may never return to normal I ventured home.

All seemed well my dropping mouth began to correct itself. However I was very concerned re what looked like two gold balls protruding from under my chin. I addressed Mr Bray who advised me they were my submandibular glands and he thought he'd managed to secure them in place. He offered to redo the area free of charge . He went onto say the revision wouldn't be without dangers including asphyxiation from excess bleeding and possible nerve damage to my tongue causing speech loss, should the wrong nerve be cut . Alarmed I asked what would happen if the situation became dangerous . He simply said they would put me in an ambulance to the local hospital.

Had I realised all the possible complications I most certainly would not have had surgery away from hospital or with someone who isn't registered to work in one!

Three years on I'm left with a bullfrog chin. I also constantly feel like I have a piece of elastic pulled across my chin area. My right ear area still feels very alien too .

As suspected the hollowing in my face is still apparent. I still have a visible channel from my inner eye down to my mouth . Luckily, although not perfect my eyes are fine .

I have written this article in the hope it will help other ladies. Please consider your safety. Is the surgeon registered. Go to an accredited surgeon who perhaps does charity work with burns victims. Not an influencer.

I am now waiting to have revision surgery with my original surgeon who just shuck his head when he saw me. At least this time it will be totally safe (in my opinion)and a lot cheaper .
