From my first virtual consult to my final follow-up appointment and everything in between, my experiences with Yorkville Institute of Plastic Surgery and Dr. Tong exceeded expectations.
A 'droopy' jawline and double chin run in my family, only worsening with age. Being in my early 40s and not happy with the jowls and lack of jawline definition already emerging, I decided to gift myself a procedure to correct this.
At our virtual consult, Dr. Tong walked me through three possible options. His explanations were clear and patient. In the end, I opted for the most extensive procedure - a lower facelift.
Dr. Tong's office team was fantastic in getting forms and instructions to me quickly, and addressing any questions in a timely manner. Perhaps most importantly, they were always very friendly.
As expected, my anxiety was high on surgery day. Dr. Tong's surgical team put me at ease right away and had me literally laughing out loud as they welcomed me to 'the spa'. My 'treatments' included warm blankets, a lovely antiseptic hair wash (not lovely at all - but still funny), among other pre-surgery tasks to get me ready.
I remained comfortable throughout the procedure, which lasted several hours. At times, I was aware of the nurses and doctors and heard snippets of conversation, but for the most part, I was 'under'. Post-op, I spent time in the recovery area where I was checked on regularly by another lovely nurse.
I returned to Dr. Tong's office the day after surgery for my first post-op check, and then again a week later when Dr. Tong removed my stitches. He missed a few sutures, but my local doctor's office was able to remove them for me to save me the trip back to Toronto.
I am now eight months post-surgery, and I am so pleased with the results! Gone is the droopy jawline and chin that blended in with my neck. Now my jawline is more distinct - dare I say 'chiseled'? :) This procedure took years off my face. I am so happy I decided to go through with it.
Throughout this entire journey, my confidence in Dr. Tong and his team remained high. I would recommend them to anyone looking to have cosmetic surgery.
