Lower Face and Neck Lift So Far So Great

WORTH IT$15,000
I’m 64 and have been considering doing the face lift for about 5 years. I finally did it.
Of course it’s early early on and I’m swollen and black and blue but I can tell Already I’m going to be very happy with this!
Dr Murphy went above and beyond. Took the lift way higher than he had planned (around the ears and up as high as my eyes in the hairline!)
The pain has been minimal to me. Uncomfortable yes, painful not too. Sleeping is uncomfortable propped up and on my back. I bought a memory foam wedge pillow to help with that. I have only been taking half doses of my pain meds when needed. The second day was the worst. It was nice to have a shower after 48 hours And wash the crust out of my hair. I’m gonna dump a bunch of pics. Some are gross. But it doesn’t feel half as bad as it looks! I’ll update in time!

Wow I'm shocked to see that bruising. I only had a little on one part of my neck and not dark like that. I'm not 6 months out and still have some swelling and numbness. Apparently all normal, just shame no docs seem to tell patients how long healing really takes. Wish you well!

Thank you. Yes I was a real bruiser. I’m nearly 6 weeks now ACS still have some left over bruising

The bruising I did get which was more yellow colour lasted about 10 weeks I think. I've never seen anyone bruise like that, I'd have really panicked but as long as the actual surgery has gone well that's the main thing. Look forward to seeing results in 6 months and a year if you can post up again

Wow, you really did bruise big time! But looking at your transformation from the more recent posts, it looks like it was worth the down time. I’ve been toying with the idea of a thread lift since I turned 50, but now approaching 56 and seriously considering more substantial with longer lasting results. Weird question, when they went behind your ear, up into your scalp, did they have to shave your hair in that area? You have a nice thick head of hair, that would traumatize me more than the bruising

144 hours. Surgery last Wednesday. Day 6.
Wow…even with the swelling and bruising I’m through the roof happy with the results so far.
The pain is minimal now, except if I try to sleep on my side. The ears are definitely sore still. The staples don’t hurt. Sleeping is easy even though I’m propped up and in my back.
Still wearing face compression bandage to minimize swelling.
The sides of my face are very numb but that’s to be expected, the nerves heal over a period of months. I feel great! ???? (maybe a little tired lol)

I can see why you were so happy at this point even with the bruising! Your face shape is beautiful, your doctor did such a nice job, you look fantastic even with your purple accents ;)!
Would you mind sharing, did you use arnica and or Bromelain before or during healing?
I’m wondering if it’s worthy as I’m scheduled for same procedure in a few days! (My doctor was fine with me taking but didn’t require).

Before pics

Here’s some before pics. This is why I decided to finally do the facelift. My husband and I have been married for 30 years but he’s 15 years younger than me. It’s made me self conscious for a while now. I got my consult with Dr. Murphy last March and finally pulled the trigger.
Thanks for sharing your progress! I hope everything continues to go really well with your recovery, and please let the community know how you're doing anytime.
