I had Kybella done In January with very minuscule results, so I decided to try chin lipo (especially since it was only $500 more than one round of Kybella!). They told me I had a very, very small amount of fat so I might not see a huge result—a lot of what's causing my 'double chin' are my glands and the way my anatomy is :( I decided to go for it anyway, because if I didn't do it I would always wonder, what if?
I had it yesterday morning, in office, under oral sedation and local anesthetic. I had a numbing cream on for a while before I went back to the procedure room. I laid on a dentist-type chair that went all the way back, and they put gauze on my eyes for the bright lights. I guess I didn't take enough oral sedation because I passed out while they were numbing me. They were all very comforting, asked if I wanted them to keep going, and I told them to move forward with the procedure. After numbing, I didn't feel anything but tugging and pressure. It was kind of weird, but I was calm enough it didn't bother me. There was loud music playing and my doctor was singing along a bit, which was funny and a great distraction :) They were able to only go through a port under my chin (instead of also behind my ears).
I am now wrapped up in bandages, on antibiotics (with a probiotic), and pain meds when I need them. They also gave me nausea meds and sleeping pills, but I don't think I will need either of them. I have to wear a cervical support collar to sleep and lay on my back with my head elevated. I also have to ice for 2-3 days and no showering for 48 hrs. Along with a list of other things! Let me know if you have questions. RIght now my numbing has mostly worn off so I am a bit sore and have a headache.

Not seeing any difference yet because I'm swollen, and it takes a while to heal. I also have some bruising. I got some gel with Arnica in it to massage on the bruises—hopefully this helps. I'm also taking a probiotic since I am on antibiotics.
Not really much pain, only soreness to the touch. I am still numb on a small area. The worst thing is just wearing this bandage wrap, which is super itchy and annoying!! I have been taking antihistamine for the itchiness, which makes me sleepy :( The wrap has also been hurting my ears so I got some gauze to pad it a bit. 3 more days of wearing it 24/7 and then a few weeks of wearing it at night only. Thankfully I am able to work from home for a few days. I haven't needed to take the sleeping pills or nausea medication they gave me. I have my follow-up appointment on Thursday.

I see pretty good improvement. Remember, you're young and your anatomy was actually pretty good so you shouldn't look very different. I kinda like the results. Pretty good.

Thank you, yes they told me I might not even see a difference but I wanted to try anyway.

1 week

I had my 1 week follow-up today. Got my stitches out and they said everything is looking good. I have to continue to wear my wrap for 3 more weeks at night only and keep a piece of tape on my incision site while it heals. They told me to not massage or stretch my neck up, and also watch my posture (like looking down at my phone!). All of this is because the skin is trying to reattach to tissue and I don't want to damage that. I have a 6 week follow-up scheduled where they will take my after photos. Excited to see them! Bruises are almost gone. Neck is tender to the touch, but I shouldn't be touching it! I also have to wait one more week to exercise again.

And no, I don't think Kybella is worth the price. It was almost as much as my lipo for only one session and it takes a lot of sessions of Kybella to see results
