Tux

referring to my phase II, I should have said at least a MAC or General anesthesia, of course the tummy must be GA. I will post photos once recovered. Also, do take a dark, loose fitting long sleeve or dolman sleeve type shirt after lipo of the arms. I took white.....bad choice.

I had breast implants 16 years ago (Mentor, smooth saline under the muscle-axillary incision. My graduate school was "interrupted" due to an annoying illness. While on hiatus from school, I met my husband, moved out of state to be with him. I became pregnant with twins who are now 5. I always had somewhat of an athletic build which I presumed would return after some hard work at the gym. At 40 years of age, I found my face wrinkling, my butt sagging, those implants that would "always look nice" ,pointing south, and this extra appendage I had to stuff in my pants everyday, the flabdomen, unacceptable. I tried really hard to accept my post pregnancy body but just could not seem to do it.
SO, I started with a full tummy tuck, lipo of inner thighs and hips with a fat transfer to butt and face. The butt was my Surgeons idea and a good one it was!
I am about 2.5 months post op from that and yesterday, I had my arms, bra line, and chin/jaw line liposuctioned. I also had a tightening laser performed (Lipolite). This second procedure, not the tummy, I refer to as phase II of the UMM (ultimate mommy makeover). I was awake for phase II. I was able to drive myself home. It is not for the squeemish or those with no pain tolerance. It was about 2.5 hours. If you are freaked out by being secured to the OR table with belts and being unable to get up for that length of time, do not try this. Also, the actual lipo was uncomfortable at times despite excellent local ansesthetic technique. I felt lots of pressure and a sort of grating sensation. It worked great for me because I knew how the process would go due to my professional background. For most people, I would recommend A MAC.
So far, TOTALLY, worth it, and as far a my surgeon goes, he has excellent bedside manners, is extremely artistic, skilled, and can individualize his abilities to what best suits YOU as the patient. For example, I was considering lipo of outer thighs and he said a fat transfer to my butt would provide an overall prettier figure and he was right. My doctor ROCKS! As a very vigilant, and picky caregiver myself, I chose very carefully.
He is honest and will not do anything he believes will be a disappointment when it everything heals and is all said and done.
I respect how he works with his OR and office staff to give you the best experience possible.
