After lots of research (including here), I had Coolsculpting done today. Please be aware that you may, indeed, have pain and not just "mild discomfort". To be clear, I had abdomen done (with a large device) and then both sides and flanks. The abdomen was the worst and my technician prepared me for that. HOWEVER, after the 5-10 minutes of cooling, I did not simply go numb. The heavy device was sitting on my hips (a necessity due to proper placement) and I had some stabbing pains and strong aches in my hips and back nearly the whole hour. The nurse said she has seen this on occasion, especially with petite clients. Happily, the other treatments were much easier! I have no idea about my results yet (of course). I definitely can function but, my core feels like a bad sunburn or lots of workout strain. Also, the bruising on my sides is severe. IF I get good results, it will have been worth it but, you need to know going in that not everyone has an easy experience with it.

Hi, I had similar procedures done on Sept. 21.
One larger applicator on lower ab below belly button area, and each " love handle" or " flank". I will have my upper abs done in about a month.
I too, did a lot of research and reading. The day of, I was prepared for the worse case scenario, but found the procedure very easy. Yes, the first 10 minutes was a bit of a shock, but not untolorable, and with each area, I was soon comfortable and able to spend time working on my iPad. I actually found the massage afterwards very nice. I experienced no signs of external bruising.
On day 1 I felt quite bloated and swollen. However, my stomach didn't look swollen, and I took measurements to compare with my pre-procedure measurements. There wasn't even 1 cm difference! In fact, I went to work later, and wore the same pants I usually do. I have been wearing my usual jeans every day since.
I have experienced no pain yet, and I am on Day 5. My stomach and hips feel numb to the touch; I feel like I have light internal bruising, but nothing painful or intense. No cramping or sharp pains that others have mentioned. This morning the was a little itching on my sides, but not bothersome.
I wonder if more symptoms are yet to hit? Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones?
Soooo......there's a long wait ahead to see if this actually works, but I am hopeful!
Maybe you and I can keep each other posted on our progress.

saskie78: Thanks for the comment! I'm glad yours has gone so smoothly. So far, my recovery period has been quite manageable (on Day 3). May I ask where yours was done? Yes, I would like to stay in touch on this thread. :)

Hi!
Thanks for your response.
I didn't go to a spa, but to a doctors clinic. She specializes in non-invasive cosmetic procedures, no surgeries.
She offers, Botox, IPL, fillers,, etc. I've seen her for a few previous treatments.
I live in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Today was a good day; no issues. :)
Tomorrow is Day 6, so it's going well.
I'll be back in a day or two!

Animalemc!
How are you doing? I hope you are comfortable and not experiencing any really bad side effects. Tomorrow will be one week post procedure for me. The last couple of days have continued to be good. I get the odd twinge now and then, a few little cramps. Certainly nothing to complain about. I wont have any problem going for the next treatment in 3 weeks.
Of course there is no sign of any changes yet. Too early for that.
Let me know how you're doing.

Thanks, Saskie78. Today is Day 6 and, so far, the recovery period has been much easier than the procedure itself. I have the typical side effects - surface numbness, soreness underneath and an occasional twinge. I really think the swelling is gone but, certainly no reduction in the areas yet. Bruising essentially gone, too. If I end up with decent results, it will have been worth it!

I think using the arnica for bruising has helped and the "tummy tamer" when awake makes me much more comfortable doing things.

Hi again! Well, I'm two weeks post.
I'm feeling really good and have to say this has been incredibly easy. My skin still feels slightly numb to the touch. My lower stomach hurts only slightly if I apply quite a bit of pressure on it, just to see if I feel anything.
I notice no changes at all....but it's only been 14 days. I'm quite surprised by the people who comment that they noticed a positive change starting on the 5th day??
Anyway, all's well. I just hope this hasn't been a waste of time and money!
I hope you're continuing to do well too.

Hi anímalemc,
Just wondering how you're doing.
I'm 24 days after and feel great. I always did feel ok, as I had very minor after- symptoms. Certainly nowhere near what so many others have reported. Based on that, I'll have no problem going for my upper abs in November. ( I had to put it off for a bit as I'm going away for a week and didn't want to risk any possible symptoms after the treatment)
But that said, I see absolutely no difference. I know it's still early yet, of course. I took very strict measurements of four mid section areas: waist, above the belly button, right on the belly button and hips. There isn't even 1 cm. change.
Time will tell I guess......

Saskie78: Thanks for checking in. I still have some skin numbness and slight sensitivity to direct pressure but, nothing that keeps me from functioning normally. I do feel a bit more comfortable wearing the compression shorts but, have gone without them just fine. I THINK I might see a bit of reduction on the abdomen but, could also be my imagination! I am also eating better, so..... I see no difference yet in the love handles. Happy to say I have no remaining swelling or problems (so far) because my wedding is in 3 weeks! :)

Your wedding!! How wonderful. Congratulations!
My update: I'm well into my 5th week and I finally see a bit of a change. I can't really notice anything looking at myself, but the tape measure is indicating a bit of a change. It's slight, but definitely there, and I hope it continues, as by all accounts 5 weeks is still early. Hopefully in the next month or so I'll notice more. In two weeks I go for one more appointment-the upper abs. I hope it's as easy as the first, which was more area and three applications. At this point I can't say whether or not it was worth the cost. In time maybe.
I hope you look stunning in your wedding dress!! All the best.

HI, Saskie78 ! Thanks for your kind words :) I am doing well as far as I can tell. Still a little numbness and the occasional tingling in the tummy but, all very minor and not a problem. I THINK there has been change in the abdomen but, haven't measured or taken photos. Clothes are fitting better though! The flanks don't seem like they have improved AT ALL. Kind of bummed abut that - maybe that will still happen. Take care!
