I'm so excited! My surgery is in two days. I can't believe it's here already. I've been stalking this site for ages and finally felt ready to document my own journey. I'm bursting with excitement and apprehensiveness. I'm married, 37 years old, 5' 1" and a 117 lbs - two children, both of which were breastfed. I'm a decent (but deflated) 36B (sometimes C) depending on the bra) cup. My left breast is noticeably smaller than the right. I'll be getting Mentor, Silicone, High Profile, inframammary incision, under muscle 475cc in left breast and a fit to match in right breast at time of surgery. I'm worried I'll be HUGE, but my Doctor assures me they won't be a big as I'm afraid they will be. I trust him.

I'm so thankful to have a bestie that's been through all this to hold my hand and answer all my questions. And believe me, it's a lot. She's going to be the one to take me to the surgical office and stay with me until my husband is able to take over when he gets home from work. I'll update as soon as I can after surgery and I'll work on posting before pictures.

I am ready for recovery. I have a great support system in place. And I keep reading the book my PS gave me at my pre-op appointment. Thanks for the link. I will look that over too. Any additional information is always appreciated :)

Post Surgery Day 1

Surgery went great. I don't remember anything from the time I scooted from the gurney to the surgery table. Recovery is lost. Wheelchair ride to the car is lost. I do have flashes of the ride home. Anesthesia seemed to wear off quickly, but I did have some side effects. I would be wide awake and the next thing I knew, it was two hours later and I didn't realize I fell asleep. I've only taken a few pain pills. My left side is more sore and higher than the right due to a bigger implant. Dr said that was exactly what he expected to hear from me when he called last night to check on me. I forgot to ask what CC he went with in the right side since that side was bigger and needed a smaller implant. I feel wonderful today. Right side isn't sore at all unless I forget and push or pull on something, I feel a little twinge.

I took off the nausea patch this morning. So far today, I've only taken a muscle relaxer and the antibiotic. I don't feel I need a pain pill. I did take two of those yesterday. I hope to not need my percosets. I didn't sleep very well last night but I'm sure that was to be expected. I'm a stomach sleeper. It's going to be tough to not lay on my belly for a while. I hope to someday at least lay on my side / semi stomach.

My husband was very helpful last night. I'm proud of him for stepping up and helping me, the kids and picking up the house in general. I need to have some sort of surgery every week. LOL Just kidding.

I can take the bandages off this afternoon but I think I'll keep them on for the unveiling with my husband. He wasn't able to go to the surgery with me so at least I can do is have him there to meet the new girls.

I tried to upload pictures of my before, the markings and my bandages but I can't figure out where the photos are on my phone to upload to the computer. I can do it on my work computer, just not my home one. So I'll have lots of pictures to upload when I go back to work on Monday.

I'm just a secretary so I don't do anything that strenuous at work. I do have an hour drive to and fro work and it's mainly a straight shot to the office, so I don't think that will be a problem either.

I ventured back to work today. I'm just a secretary so I don't do anything strenuous so I think I'll be fine. I am still semi sore on the left side where the bigger implant is and it's still riding WAY high in my shirts whereas the right one isn't riding very high, isn't sore and looks normal. Well, the normal that I hope it will be. I am feeling lots of muscle twinges in my left breast and behind the nipple. I assume that is normal? I've been doing great on taking my antibiotics and muscle relaxers 3 times a day as prescribed but I haven't taken any percocets and have only been relying on ibuprofen as pain management.

I have my first post-op appointment tomorrow. I can't wait to get the tape off. I'm starting to get itchy.

Well, I guess since I've not been in the office for 3 days (plus the weekend) I should get started on what's piled up on my desk. I just had to come here first to update pictures and share my last couple of days. Priorities! LOL

Thanks. You too :) I am not above leaving early if I get too tired. Sunday, I was just plain out exhausted for some odd reason. Saturday, we ventured out shopping and going out to eat and I wonder if I exerted myself too much that night. If I find that I am hurting or getting tired, I'm lucky enough to have the flexible schedule to leave if I need to.

By 3:00 I was wore out and hurting fairly steady. Obviously, I couldn't take any pain pills due to having to drive home and ibuprofen wasn't cutting it. As soon as I walked in the door, I iced myself down with all 4 bags of peas at once and took a pain pill. I normally take a pill and immediately take a nap. I don't like the loopy, weird feeling. My oldest daughter stepped up with the little one while I was lying around and my hubby even started his own dinner while I rested :)

Glad everyone in your family could help out a bit. Many families aren't accustomed to the "mom" being down and out for a bit. ;) Keep milking it for what you can...you're still healing!
