Long-term side effects
I was given approx 100 units of Botox for treatment of chronic migraines. I was not warned in advance about any potential long term side effects. Within 24 hours I had the worst headache of my life. I thought I was literally going to die. The headache decreased a small amount daily but in crept anxiety, depression, nightmares and a strange feeling of disassociation. I lost my job and my marriage suffered as well. Oh, and my migraines are meaner than ever. Summary: if u want to try Botox for any reason, learn from my mistake and don't take the risk. I eventually recovered, others have not been so lucky.
Not Worth the potential permanent side effects
As I stated above, my condition improved over time. After I lost my job and a large part of my quality of life. Yes the worst headache of my life went away but now I realize that long term effects set in and I have never been the same. I have never been well enough to work again. I began to have systemic neurological issues including but not limited to, vertigo, Meinere's Disease, hearing loss, tinnitus, complete hearing loss in my left ear, neuropathy, neuralgia, light sensitivity all the time, visual disturbances, double vision in one eye, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, chronic pain that is unbearable at times, heat sensitivity, heat intolerance, mysterious flaming hot skin rashes that doctors cannot identify and so much more. If I could go back in time and not have botox shots I would. Botox tool a great deal of my life away.

My Dr. did not warn me about any possible permanent side effects. He only warned that I may get a headache for a few days. I did get a headache, the mother of all headaches and it lasted 3-4 weeks. If he would have told me there were any potential permanent side effects like I have experienced, I never would have tried Botox for migraines. It ruined every aspect of my life. I feel the Dr. is just as responsible as Allergan for what this toxin has permanently done to me.
