I’m only 3 days post Lasik and I still have blurry vision sometimes. Halos are always present. My right eye had a dry spot the following day and I used the gel drops all day and it was better the next day. Today my left eye feels like it has a dry spot and that’s why my vision isn’t as clear as it was yesterday. I think I’m going to be one of those people who will not see the full effect of Lasik for 3-4 weeks. I know several people who saw perfect 3 days afterwards.
I need reading glasses now, so my eyesight is the complete opposite of what I’ve been used to since I was 10 years old. I could see perfectly with my naked eye before Lasik. They explained that would change after the surgery and I understood why.
I’m just not sure if this was the best decision for me yet. I’ll have to post an update in a month and let you know if I have the crisp clear vision I was expecting. I paid more for the Contoura procedure, so right now I’m very optimistic that my results will be what I dreamt of!

Hi, I’m in Boulder and thinking about having Dr. Beyer it. Did you use him?

No, I didn’t. I’ve heard of him. I regret having Lasik so I wouldn’t recommend it.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to need an enhancement. They don’t tell you that they correct your vision a little higher than your prescription to reduce the need for the enhancement. I have to wear reading glasses almost all day still and at my last follow up appointment 2 days ago, the doctor suggested I get +1 reading glasses for distance. My tv is usually still a little blurry and not as sharp as before my Lasik. I can’t see people’s faces as good as before my Lasik. I’m going to ask for monovision when I’m 99% positive they’re going to have to do an enhancement and get contacts to try it out so I know what to expect. Trust me, if you’re 40+ years old, try contacts for monovision before you have Lasik for just distance. This is not what I expected and now am regretting my decision.

Had monovision done and loving it!

I wasn’t happy with my original results as I had to wear glasses for everything! I decided for reading that I wanted monovision done and they corrected it for free since I bought the 1 year warranty. It was slightly odd at first and over a month later, I notice the sight difference between the my eyes while watching tv. The great thing is that I don’t need glasses except for computer work right now. My vision is getting better and the doctor believes I’ll be able to read anything from 3-4 feet from me in a few months! Then I’ll never need to wear glasses. Thinking back now, I would have saved my money and just continued with contacts and glasses for my distance, but I would recommend going monovision if you’ll need to see up close and far away. It’s not as weird as it sounds and try using contacts for a month to see if you’re a good candidate that can adjust to it.
