Life-Changing Improvement
Going out on a limb for those of you who read 100s of reviews before getting this done, because that’s exactly what I did!
I am NOT one to post pictures like this... so this is sort of a big deal for me and I hope this helps someone out there who is like me.
I visited and had consultations with other plastic surgeons before meeting Dr. Mays.
After my first visit with a different doctor, I left crying and very upset. I took a break from pursuing this surgery for a few months after that visit because of how horrible it made me feel about myself.
Finally, I made an appointment to see Dr.Mays and his staff.
I think, for me, this was a very emotional surgery because I truly felt “deformed” and non-feminine. Clothes, bathing suits, and bras have never fit quite right and I’ve never felt comfortable with myself because of my breast’s abnormal shape and appearance. I’ve never had the goal to look “perfect”- I just wanted to feel normal and pretty. During my consultation with Dr. Mays, I never felt judged or ugly. In fact, during my consultation there, I felt so comfortable. The fact that this office catered to my emotional needs and realized that this was just as much of an emotion journey as it was a physical one, meant a lot to me.
I’d say I am sort of a picky person- so choosing the right implant size was a challenge for me. I gave Dr.Mays a lot of liberty in choosing the size that he thought I would be most happy with, because I felt that he truly understood what I was looking for and knew my goals. I had definitely not felt this type of trust with the other doctors I had met with before him. He took the time to listen to me, and made me feel confident with his abilities and understanding.
Day of surgery was a breeze and went exactly as planned.
Post op day one- my follow up appointment went great. I was in and out in less than and hour.
Post op appointment 2: I was told that my scars would continue to improve, and they absolutely have.
I am thrilled with the new shape, size, and over all appearance of the work that Dr.Mays completed. I would recommend this facility and this doctor to anyone needing this procedure.
Finally, the finance lady that also does scheduling for Dr.Mays- I believe her name is Julie- is fabulous. She emailed me back with answers to my questions in minutes. She arranged to have a nurse call me back to answer my technical questions, too— AND I actually received a call back promptly from them! She was just on it, and she always seemed happy to help me.
Over all 5/5star experience.
My only regret is not getting this done sooner!
