OKAY!

So I'm 29 years old, 5'2", no kids, small frame, 121 lbs. After running for two years, I decided to weight lift with my husband and it's SO MUCH BETTER than the exhaustion of running. But, my body changed in ways that I wasn't expecting.. I gained a lot of muscle that's shaping my body and becoming more fit (woo hoo!) , but my boobs shrank from a D to a B! I've always been open minded about breast augmentation and knew that I would get it done if they ever shrank below a D and now it happened!

Reading these reviews and experiences were really helpful, so thank you everyone who had the courage to share your story! I've had my consultation and we decided on a narrow 450cc silicone. My pre-op appointment is next week and the surgery is the week after that. I'M SO EXCITED!!

I've never thought of myself as someone who would be this excited about voluntary surgery, but man I miss the larger chest. I still love my breasts now and am not insecure about them, but after having them perfect for my frame then they shrank away.. I'm ready to have them back :)

I'll try to post routinely about everything!

In this post, I accidentally wrote that they'll be 450cc, but they're actually going to be high profile sientra 415cc implants.

Tomorrow morning is the day!!

I had my pre-op appointment last Wednesday where we went over which medications I can take leading up to the surgery, medications I needed for post-op, expectations and caring during recovery. They gave me a booklet that outlined absolutely everything that I need to know before and after. I got my checklist of stuff: front closing bras (several sizes because you won't know exactly what will fit), hydrogen peroxide, prescriptions, Colace, vitamin E, antiseptic wash, germ inhibiting soap... Check check & check.

The surgery is tomorrow morning and I should be awake and ready to go home early afternoon. I'm excited, but nervous about the first few days of recovery.. my husband will be with me the entire time for the first six days, but I'm not the kind of person to ever ask for help. It's going to be a big adjustment to keep asking for help and admit to myself that I need the help and should enjoy the needed downtime.

I attached some pictures of before so there will be some comparisons. I'll try to keep it updated every week.

Congratulations!!! It's crazy that cosmetic procedures still get negative feedback because I've had nothing but uplifting and positive experiences and still feel just as 'real' as before. The recovery is smooth and gets better every day :) I hope your recovery is on the up & up too!

The First Week Post Surgery

The first two days were VERY rough after the surgery, but every day improved after that. When I woke up, I took a sip of ginger ale and threw up. I didn't have any problems when I had anesthesia from a colonoscopy last year, but I got really sick after this one and didn't quit throwing up until the middle of the 2nd day. When you leave the hospital, you've got sutures, elasti-tape, other medical tape, gauze and an ace bandage wrapped around your chest. All of that stays on for the first 24 hours, then you can remove the gauze and ace bandage. Dr. Mizuguchi's team provided an excellent booklet of pre-care and post-care guidelines and what to expect during the healing process. I was REALLY sore the first two days. I couldn't lift my arms over my shoulders or lift anything heavier than a glass of water. My husband had to shower me, dress and undress me, pull my pants up after using the bathroom... I literally couldn't use my arms for anything. The first two days were mostly sitting/laying in the recliner and occasionally getting up to use the restroom. My husband had to bring me everything and do it all! It's absolutely crucial to have someone with you for the first 24 hours after surgery.

The second day was pretty much the same as the first but I felt more well rested and it was MUCH better because I could finally hold down food. The incision sites were still very fresh and muscles were super tight. I opted to not use any painkillers at all and only used the prescribed muscle relaxers twice per day and occasionally Tylenol. I have a really low tolerance for pain so I'd probably rank the first two days around 7.5 out of 10 then the third day a 6 and the fourth & fifth day a 5 or less. It definitely gets better after the first three days!
