No Infection!!!
WORTH IT$8,760
At my appointment this morning, the nurse saw me, and she said the redness along my incision line did not look like an infection. She said it looks like I've been using the peroxide too long. She said using peroxide too long can cause a good scab to start looking worse and start irritating good skin. When the doctor came in, he said the same thing! He said soap and water is my best friend right now and to keep the incisions dry. Such a relief! He said everything looks good for 2 weeks post op.
I was told to clean the incisions twice a day with peroxide and antibiotic ointment. They didn't tell me when to stop so I've been doing that since post op day 3 til today (post op day 13). To anyone about to go through this, if your doctor has you cleaning the incisions with peroxide, I would suggest to ask when to stop!!!!

Infection and weird veins?!
So tonight when I was cleaning the incisions, I noticed my right boob was red and firm. It doesn't look bad and I'm supposed to see my doctor Monday to get the nipple stitches out. Tomorrow if the infection looks worse, I will try calling my doctor and seeing if he could call in antibiotics.. the only antibiotics I had was in the IV the day of the surgery. Kind of freaking out though!!!! Let me know what y'all think.. it's definitely getting infected huh?
ALSO, I've had these weird little veins on my left boob since the bandages were taken off on day 3.. wondering if anyone has seen anything like that before. Hoping it's something temporary, but if not, it's okay! They're small and not that noticeable!

The little veins don't seem concerning. Broken capillaries maybe? Not a big deal, fairly normal. Those can happen when you get bruises.

Stomach so swollen
My stomach is so swollen it's insane!!! I look like I'm pregnant. I looked up why, and doctors say that the inflammation from the breasts distended into the stomach area too. Also I was constipated but I've gone to the bathroom, and that didn't even help with the pregnant belly.
Just taking it one day at a time.. I took my first shower yesterday which felt nice!
I'm not allowed to wear a bra for the first week because it might irritate the incisions, but since day 1, I've been needing a bra for support!! Seriously most doctors require a bra, and I would feel much better wearing one, but since it's day 5, I guess I will stick it out and not wear one until day 7.
How does it look?? What do y'all think?

Bloat and swelling is normal! It's so interesting that your doctor doesn't want you wearing a bra. It's amazing how different each doctor's instructions are. In the beginning I didn't want to take my bra off because I liked the feeling of being "secure", but now I'm 10 days post op (I think) and I wish I didn't have to wear a bra.

They look great! Such a good size. They'll change as they settle but WOW. It's such a difference!! Your life is going to be so much easier.

What a change! They are looking realllly good and pure not even a week out! As for the bra, my doctor didn’t put me in one either - sent me home in a binder but it wasn’t supportive and no compression at all. Before surgery I had bought a front-zip stretchy sports bra, so after day 3 when the gauze/bandages came off I wore that overtop of the binder to help feel secure, and just on its own if I was leaving the house cuz the binder was too bulky through clothes. About day 10 I bought a proper sports bra, wireless but with good support) to wear until I feel confident that the size/shape has settled and then I’ll go shopping for new bras. I’m still wearing the binder at night, not to strap them down or anything but just to keep the blankets off my boobs (cuz I still have a few scabs and the nipples are still sensitive) and I prefer it to pjs or tank tops!

Yes I had bought a couple front close sports bras too! I'll still get to wear them in a couple days, but I'll tell ya, making me not wear a bra has kept me from overdoing it! Cause my cabin fever is strong.. if I had any bit of support, I'd definitely start doing too much! So it's a blessing in disguise, but I'm ready to put that bra on in 2 days for sure!
