All Cotton Support Bras ?????

zoie5678
WORTH IT$7,830
I am now 7 weeks post-op! Boobies look great but I've been fighting irritation and itching! Met with my PS yesterday. As he suggested, I am now taking a low dose steroid pack for six days to help with the itching. Hopefully it will help -- so far so good. He also suggested switching to all cotton support bras (where the heck do you get these???), washing bras in Woolite, using ivory soap for showering and putting gauze in bra over irritated area. I'm allergic to "something" but not sure what -- and at this point it really doesn't matter. I just want the itching to stop and irritation to go away! He said I might have to be referred to a dermatologist but not yet -- great ????. So I went to Walmart last night and all I found were some all cotton nursing bras -- not the greatest but that's about all I could find. There was another brand that was all cotton but it had a seam across the cup and it was irritating. Went online and found a bunch but I hate ordering bras online. So today my Mom and so ventured out and did some more shopping. No luck -- grrrr. So I am about to go back online and just start ordering ............... Wish me luck finding a comfortable all cotton support bra!

Hey there, I'm over 4 mos post op, and I have been wearing the Fruit of the Loom sports bras. They come in a two pack, Walmart, 11 dollars. Front close, two-tone ones. They are so comfy. Maybe those can help. You look great with whatever you have been doing.

I'll go look - thanks! I think I may have tried those. Are they racer back? I saw JCPenney's has some Bali that are all cotton. Need to make another shopping trip! I live in a small town -- the nearest mall is like 25 minutes away.

They are the racer back. Maybe have a liner that's not cotton. Sorry that you're itchy. They also have a non-racer back style w/o the liner, just not as much coverage for me. All one color. I hope you can find what you need. :)

I also used Dr. Jansen this past March 30th for my breast reduction. He did an awesome job and would recommend him to anyone. I noticed you said you lived in a small town. I also live in a very small town with very lil places to shop. I live in Picayune Ms. But originally from Slidell. So I know the feeling about having to drive to shop. I have to either drive to Slidell, Hattiesburg, Gulfport or Metairie/Kenner area.

I think Jockey makes an inexpensive comfortable one.

Still itching ... Grrrrrrr

zoie5678
Will be 7 weeks post-op in two days and I still have itchy breast and most of the time they are so sensitive. I'm not using any scar medication on them yet because I had an allergic reaction to Maderma. Scared to try it again. At one point, I sporadically started itching all over (back, stomach, head, arms, legs at different times, thank goodness). Took Benadryl at night for a couple of days but am tired of being sedated. Benadryl cream works but I just wish the itching would STOP! Other than that I'm doing great.

I had the same thing. It was a reaction to the antibiotics I was given at surgery. Took weeks to go away.

I don't go back to see my PS until Nov 12th. I don't see how I will ever be able to do any kind of scar treatment. Breast are way too sensitive. Oh well

When I had my thigh lift, my skin was so sensitive that even pj shorts were difficult to wear. It was horrible. It wasn't until I started getting lymphatic massages to desensitize the skin and nerve endings did it get better. Just an idea but you can do it yourself with vitamin e oil or lotion. It will be hard to do and really sensitive at first but the more you do it the better it will get. Just tough it out. It also helps break up scare tissue adhesions. Feel better

Thanks -- I'll keep that in mine. It's midnight here and Of course the itching wokee up. I put Benadryl and it always helps -- just annoying. Gonna call PS office in the morning. He only comes to my area on Wednesdays and Fridays. Would love to just hear what he has to say.

Have you tried pills instead or in addition to the cream. It will make u sleepy. Feel better
October 29, 2014
Yes the Benadryl pills were sorta helping but I can only take them at night cause they do make me very sleepy. My PS suggested something he calls a "medi pack" which the nurse said was like a steroid pill. But I wanted to try the cortisone cream 1st. Guess when I call today I'll ask about the "medi-pack" cause it almost feels like the itching is inside -- weird.
October 29, 2014
I'm not sure why my PS didn't want me to take the steroid pack but he really wanted me to tough it out, which I did. In hindsight, I'm glad I did, as I don't relish the idea of taking steroids, but I'm not sure I could go through that again. When I googled the side affects of steroid use, it listed high blood pressure and weight gain. Reason enough for me to avoid the medi-pack. I guess it's a personal decision as to how much discomfort you can tolerate and for how long. It took about 2 weeks for the hives to resolve. Ice packs and cooler showers with oatmeal helped a lot.

I hear you ... That's why I've been avoiding it. Guess I might give in if he recommends it. I go see him at 1:30pm today.

I had the same reaction from biocorium. My ps said she had never had anyone have an allergic reaction from it. Guess I'm super sensitive. You look wonderful! Having mine done Monday. Can't decide between a b or c cup. I'm about your size. Maybe shorter. Wish me easy healing.

Keeps getting better and better .....

zoie5678
5 weeks 4 days post-op----- I started off my morning by visiting co-workers (and of course showing off my new boobies). Everyone thought I lost weight. Nope! Just new boobies! What a confidence boost! Anyways, I felt so good that today I actually cleaned my whole house. So everyone out there that is struggling in week 1,2,3 or 4 post-op ... Hang in there! Things do heal and things do get better! Another minor set back: I think I'm allergic to the Maderma ????. Started using it Saturday and it burns and makes me itchy and red. Gonna call PS office tomorrow. I'm not using it!!!!!
