Hyaluronidase Correction in Tear Troughs

I had juvederm ultra plus injected in tear troughs years ago. Recently I had noticed ridges (not sure what to call them) under both eyes that looked worse when smiling. Two RN's had told me that the ridges were juvederm but they did not feel comfortable injecting hyaluronidase and advised that I go back to the doctor who injected it or see a plastic surgeon. The doctor who originally injected me years ago wanted me to have biopsies in these areas and I did not feel comfortable with that. Another plastic surgeon in my town wanted to inject under one eye and then the other eye the following week and I wasn't comfortable with that either. I called Dr. Liu and asked if I could get a consultation with him since I was already going to see him for my cellfina followup. During the visit he said that he would inject a small amount and then we would go from there. So two weeks later off I went driving an hour and a half each way to see Dr. Liu and I'm very glad I made the trip. Immediately after the injection I could see a difference. I initially thought that my left side needed more, but he told me that I should gently massage that area. It's been two weeks since and there has been additional improvement in the area. I'm very happy with the results. I have posted a before pic and will try to post an after pic soon.

Did he inject the Hyaluronidase or more filler? I am having the same issue right now.

Nevermind I see!! LOL. So, it didn't make all of the filler dissolve?

This is a before pic. He was very careful with the amount he used. It is much better.

Hi, did he used superficially with little needle or deep plan with a canula like the filler?

That's amazing I am so happy for you to have fixed this. I am looking into getting hyaluronidase done to fix my tt area too!

Is it all gone now? And could you feel the filler underneath your skin? Or did it just look bad? I have a similar issue but with discolouration that has persisted for more than 2 years, and I can't feel any filler underneath the skin, but it's discoloured and never going away.. :(

Hi. I’m not sure if it’s all gone. I couldn’t feel it but could see it. It looks better but I will need treatment in the future. Sometimes I think that things look better initially because of swelling. I never had discoloration. Did your Dr. tell you that it will never go away?

I stopped talking to my doctor years ago after I realised he was completely incompetent and should've never done the injections in the first place. He also did the hyaluronidase 3 months later, after initially refusing to do it because he insisted that it would damage my own tissue.

Well, the hyaluronidase didn't really fix anything, but my left side went back to normal after a while. My right side is still similar to how it was after the filler injections - gray and discoloured. I've been to 2 dermatologists with no experience with this, who gave me two different diagnosises and treatments that didn't work.

I'm not at loss of what to do. I don't even know what it is, but I think and hope it might be filler left. All I know is that it's been 2.5 years and it's not going away on its own.

I'm scared to try hyaluronidase in case it's something other than filler and I make it even worse.

I just don't understand why I'm having this discolouration under my eye that doesn't go away..

I can't feel anything in the area, my skin is just grayish. I don't know whether there is volume increase as there is still lack of volume which I wanted to fix initially, so there's no way to "see" the filler other than assuming the gray hue is from filler.

This is such a nightmare..

The Dr. who used hyaluronidase on me was not the injector. Maybe you could consult with a plastic surgeon. Wish you the best.

Hi there! Thinking about going to dr Liu for the same thing- can you please update on your long term results after he dissolved it?

No improvement. I don’t think I needed hyaluronidase. I believe the initial improvement we see in many of these preocedures is from swelling. A nurse had told me it was excess juvederm so I requested the injection. Now I believe it’s aging and fat loss. I recommend Dr. Liu because he is a good doctor. Just be sure that you really need the hyaluronidase.

I don't undertand how you didn't have hyaluronidase damage. My whole eyes hollowed out very badly, all upper and bottom eye fat depleted in a very dramatic way .. and even my cheeks. I had only has filler for 1 month and it was my 1st time. I now look 10+years older and deformed.
I don't get why some people melt and others don't.

He was very conservative with the hyaluronidase. I never really needed it. Sorry that happened to you. Have you thought of going to another plastic surgeon?

Hi sunrise! Do you know how many units you got under each eye?
