How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.
If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

It's been almost a year since I've gotten surgery...
It's been almost a year since I've gotten surgery and after all the swelling has gone down I can finally say that Dr. Chase Lay is the best doctor ever!
I preface this by saying I originally had my eyelids done in a very notable clinic in Japan. In the beginning, things were great! However 6 months later my eyelids began to deteriorate and it started to eat away at my confidence. I contacted the clinic about my problem and they gave me the cold shoulder despite advertising their 100% warranty satisfaction guarantee, "there's nothing we can do" they said. Because of this experience I was very reluctant to trust any cosmetic surgeon with my face. Asian eyelid surgery is so difficult to search for because of the many factors to consider. My mutilated eyelids haunted me for a year until I heard from the grapevine of a doctor in San Jose who did amazing work.
After a month of contemplation, I decided to request a consultation. They were very quick with an email reply and I also received a phone call. Through that call I got an estimated quote for the procedure. Their receptionist was so warm and welcoming so I felt more comfortable to go in person. I was very nervous about meeting Dr. Chase Lay, but he was very chill! First meetings tell a lot about a person, and when I met him I felt like I could really trust him! Most clinics I've been to try to up sell you on procedures, but Dr. Chase Lay didn't do that at all. He actually talked me down from another procedure I wanted and suggested a cheaper method that would be more effective to the results I wanted. He measured my eyes and asked me what style I wanted and we discussed it thoroughly. He's very open to questions so if you're the type that's wary like me, please take advantage of it.
At the end of the meeting I immediately set a date for surgery with the staff. His schedule is really busy so please take that into account! I waited about 2-3 months but ultimately it was so worth it! You are awake during the surgery but it was painless and calm. I'm embarrassed to admit it but during the procedure I started crying so hard that we had to halt the surgery for a couple of minutes. He said something that touched me so hard I couldn't control my emotions(Sorry Doctor!). There were multiple check ups afterwards and I felt well taken care of. At one point, I felt there was something wrong with my healing but he quickly reassured me over the phone.
So yes, if you want to save a bit of money go to Asia. However, they will not be as kind, considerate, and caring as Dr. Chase Lay is.
