Day 5 post op and extremely bruised/swollen. Everything looked better before the surgery but doc assured me that everything will heal in few weeks. Sitting in bed for past days am now starting to worry.. Was told I'd be able to exercise 2 weeks post and can barely move. Anyone else this badly bruised 5 days post?

Hi just noticed this post and thought. I might be able to help in some way. There's no doubt in my mind that you have excessive bruising. What we need to try and do is determine the cause of this. Bruises I'm sure you are aware are caused by trauma to blood vessels beneath the surface of skin being ruptured causing tiny bleeds. This kind of bruising seems very extensive and I wonder if maybe your diet could have played a part in this certain medications foods or food supplements can actually thin the blood making this more common. Iron garlic and aspirin all have this effect to name a few. Vaser is supposed to constrict these blood vessels however so this amount of bruising is not generally seen. This however does not mean it can't happen. You should have a full aftercare plan setup as standard. If you are at all worried don't be afraid to use it. Nobody not even a doctor can give you a definitive answer without examining you. Also have you been advised on MLD

Thanks. I ate really well and cut out aspirin 4 weeks before....What's MLD?
I only had about 300cc of fat taken out and I feel like my abs look worse than they did before and I can feel a lower gut which was where I had small amount of fat before

MLD manual lymphatic drainage. It can dramatically reduce bruising and help with swelling. Although you stopped talking aspirin 4 weeks pre op it is possible that it has an effect on your blood. Meaning that you do bruise very easily. Definitely have it checked out though just to be safe.

Give it time. We all bruise differently. It will turn a rainbow of colors before fading. Relax. Been there and survived. You will too.

Thanks Jill- that's the thing though I only had about 300 cc fat removed as I wanted it in my calves. My ps said I just bruise easily and will go away but hopefully another doc can take a look on here if he/she has ever experienced this kindof bruising, otherwise I'm wondering if I need to go to a physician

I am going to be having same procedure and fat will be taken from same area to be placed in calves, did bruising ever go down and how did calves come out?
Thanks for starting a review and for posting pics. That is some serious bruising, it looks like you had some aggressive lipo (as in a lot of fat taken out). I hope you start to feel better soon.
If you are concerned about the pain and bruising I'd call your doctor's nurse line about it.
