I am experiencing hollowness and spooky eyes after upper bleph and was wondering if anyone has had success with fat grafting or fat transfer procedure(s). I have read a lot of stories on Real Self regarding bad blephs but I am not finding ANY success stories in fixing the problems associated with too much fat being removed. I would REALLY appreciate any input you have regarding these issues. THANK YOU!

Welcome and thanks for sharing your experience with us!I've narrowed down the Fat Transfer reviews for you, to those who only had it carried out on their face, that link is below. I've also add a link to those only having the transfer to their eye area.Facial Fat TransferEye area Fat TransferI hope this helps!
I just had fat transfer done to upper eyelids 9 weeks ago. There is absolutely no difference! I believe the doctor should have overfilled to compensate for the fat that doesn’t take.
I guess the answer is no! Scary!
This post came across my newsthread, but it looks like it was from a while ago.I have had two fat transfer to my entire face. I did not have a fat transfer to only the one area as you mentioned, but had it all over including the eye area. The first fat transfer I would estimate 10% of it stayed. Part of the reason is I had lost weight right after the fat transfer which was not a good idea. My second fat transfer took better (by a different doctor) and I think 50% stayed which is a great result. Before doing a fat transfer I would recommend being at a weight you will usually stay at and make sure your surgeon has done a lot of fat transfers as there are risks. Look for a surgeon with a lot of before and after pictures of his work.
I appreciate your response! so glad to hear that it worked out for you. Would you mind sharing the name of your doctor? thanks
Randal Haworth Beverly Hills. I wrote a review about this under my lip lift review. Since I posted this response above I had a fat transfer to other areas of my face including upper and lower eyes, and so far it has also turned out good. Good luck to you.
Yes don't do it!! I had fat transfer to my eye lids, orbital area, nasal folds and lower chin area in October 2014. The biggest mistake of my life. Eye lids are now very heavy with a large lump on the right side. My Dr. says its bone. Bone isn't soft and lumpy. Grafting in orbital area has left a ridge in the lower eye area and has cause indentations in upper cheek area and bulging near corner of eye area when I smile. Nasal folds also have a ridge. Chin area also very lumpy. Please do not do fat grafting. It is too unpredictable. Fillers that are dissolvable is the only thing I will ever put in my face. You may think you will save money with fat because it is permanent but ends up costing way more to try and solve the issues from fat graft. It is a guessing game. Some fat will dissolve within a few months and some will not. You are then left with all kinds of distortion. Not easy to remove and can be dangerous because of the nerves in the face. This has devistated me and I hide my face all of the time in public when I have to go out. I try not to. Please don't alter your face permanently. It is a life changing experience for the worse.
Thank you so much for this information! I have been wondering if the upper eye area would feel heavy with the fat in there. Also the lumpiness was a question I had since you cannot predict how much fat will stay and where it will stay. I am so sorry this has happened to you!! It is really sad that this information is not shared with more people so the same thing will not happen to them. I know how devastating it is to change your face for the worse because it happened to me in 2014 as well. It is hard for me to go out in public and I try and hide my face too. It is truly devastating. I really appreciate your response because I have been hesitant and afraid to try fat grafting because it is permanent and if it turns out wrong, there is not much you can do. So thank you so much for sharing your story. I hope that your situation will resolve with time...do you think fillers can even it out so at least it would appear more even? Have you tried that? I really wish you the best....
Sorry to hear about your experience. I know what it's like to have bad plastic surgery and it really undermines your confidence. Did you manage to get the fat removed or resolved in any way?
Hi! I had my stitches out today and my doctor- Dr Sorensen- asked me if my upper eyelids felt heavy with the fat but I can honestly say, not at all. Even though I am only a week out and quite bruised, it is looking good. He said that sometimes they need to do a top up procedure as some fat get reabsorbed and my right side might need a little bit more. But apart from that, I was blown away by how good it looked! My eyes are symmetrical and I look a lot younger- can't complain about that! I'm going back after 6 weeks so I will update on my progress then and will post some photos when he has completely finished with me. All the best! L
Sorry to hear about your negative experience with fat grafting. I have just had fat grafting done to the face and the upper eyelids and it is looking good so far but still in the early stages so the swelling hasn't gone down yet. I went to an expert on fat grafting who is extremely experienced and knowledgeable about it. He is based in London though. Anyway, I will update you in a few weeks if you are still interested in the procedure.
Yes, thank you I would love to hear how you are doing and what the surgeon did for your upper eye area. Keep in touch!
