Although Dr. Huo specialty states OB/GYN. She is now branching into SKIN using Radio-frequency and lasers. I am 61 in need facial rejuvenation but did not want to go under the knife. My skin tone was looking dull, uneven with much sun damage, brown spots and fine lines especially around my lips. We first started with doing RF on the forehead and around eyes to tighten skin and lift eyelids. Since I had great results with that treatment so I decided to do the full face laser. Cynosure laser was recommended by Dr. Huo. You first have to wound the skin in order for collagen to get activated to repair the skin...hence you get a fresh new look. I did 3 treatments a month apart. I am very happy with results. I continue to see improvement in tone and texture. As far as treatment goes it was easier than I anticipated. Dr. Huo was very knowledgable, kind and helpful during the procedure. You are first given a "numbing agent" which takes about 30 minutes then the "pulses" start which takes another 30. I did 2 passes each visit. I was in and out in about an hour. She put sunscreen and a moisturizer and I was done. I felt a little worse than I looked. My face looked like a sunburn which felt warm. When leaving the sun made my face feel hotter. So I put on sunglasses, cranked the AC and used the ice packs I had brought from home. The next day I was swollen. I looked like a chipmunk. My face still red but not painful at all. Did not need any pain medication. I was back to work within a day.
