Ultherapy Real Review No BS. Los Angeles, CA

$1,500
Ok. I'm sorry for my tone but I've been thru the ringer on PS. First with lipo that left me scarred and lumps and holes in my body, and I'm basically not believing much anymore in all the "new technologies" that sound so great - but end up wasting our money. so yeah, I'm going to give an honest review on ultherapy because if it doesn't work, dont waste your money. I am 2 weeks in, and I will post photos soon.
So far:
1) at least I only spent 1500, they reduced the price around these here parts from 5k! ridiculous!
2) I don't believe in the whole "you need a good technician to see good results" um. yeah... right. My technician showed me her machine and it told her exactly what to do, the depth of the ultrasound, etc. the only thing I would say was worthy to note is, she said they DONT DO JOWLS. she said the better thing to do is up near the cheek bones, this will tighten near the ears and result in my jowls being lifted. So thats the one area I could see doctor expertise coming into play, but, I dont trust any reviews giving the doctor and location, sorry. I'm feeling they are advertising their clinic, and that is why I am NOT giving out my doctor.!
3) My doc gave me a zanex, YAY! heehee. but it still hurt like heck. At first I was like ok this is EASY, its just like a little sting, sort of itchy, later it became almost unbearable, rubber band snaps. But she let me take little breaks when I was freaking out
4) I had a headache for a couple days after and extreme soreness under my chin. This is likely from where the nasty butcher lipo doctor I had, lipoed my chin. anywhere there was no lipo, I felt no pain in the next few days. But I kind of liked the pain I felt like it meant something had happened in there
5) I am kind of randomly taking some amino acid supplements and vitamin C to help my collagen build
6) SO FAR - NO RESULTS. in fact I am in a face hating period right now where I feel my face looks aweful, so I just dont look at it too much. But I look every morning to see if the ultherapy has worked, it's done nothing so far. They say to wait 6 months so we will see. Kind of suspicious of anything that takes that long to produce results, and I want to try a fat burning pill but am afraid to skew my ultherapy results so I am unhappily waiting on that.
OK! WE SHALL SEE! :-)

As someone who is 60 ( although i dont see your age here), you girls are spending too much money and believing too much hype about cosmetic procedures and what they will do for you, and how everyone needs them just to feel acceptable. Before 50 or so your face is your face and whether you look like a supermodel or just an average woman, you are who you Are,unless there is some medical issue that has caused a deformity or you have lost over 100 lbs...and everything is uncomfortably hanging.
Forget running to a doctor at every " imperfection" and save your money for the big guns..post 60 years old. A face lift

You're right about that! (I am 64.) I truly believe most "cosmetic procedures" ( let alone La Mer creams, etc.) are proof that we suckers are desperate to solve "problems" that others don't even register when looking at us.

When my gorgeous ( not just mom talking, everyone thinks so) daughter told me she was upset her " chin was sagging" and asked my surgeons name, i had to stop and think. She is 29 years old, thin and drop dead beautiful. I did not see "sagging ". She was upset that she no longer looked 18 years old, that she was beginning to look " mature". It made me wonder what we, as women, are all buying into here

I totally agree on saving for a facelift! I am 57. OverallI have aged well. However, I am not liking the post menopausal changes (at age 56). I do a little botox on my forehead and cosmeceuticals, but am saving for a good facelift within the next year or so. I have heard many, many really negative things about thermage, Ultherapy, and even lasers at times. Plus they are not cheap!

I appreciate your plain speaking. It is my experience that none of these 'soft' treatments work (I have had Ultherapy and Endymed ) and have not been endorsed by any of the reputable plastic surgeons I have seen subsequently. There really should be more regulation in the aesthetics industry and it is thanks to a site such as this that one can make more informed choices thereby saving oneself a lot of discomfort and money.

Didn't work for crap
Sorry for the title, but its true. I'm starting to not believe in any of these new technologies :-( I got some pix I will try to post, but basically, I don't see any change, if there is any change its probably because I was able to somehow drop 4 pounds. Well *sigh* that's that, another crappy scam. jeeze. and yes ladies I am almost 40 and my aging is going very well but I still dont like my jowls, and some of the jowl is unnatural due to 10 years ago having a VERY VERY UNETHICAL lipo doctor screw up my body and jawline :-(

Funny thing is, it's half the price of a facelift! Sorry for ur no results but glad it's not a life wrecker! All this stuff is super experimental. Not cool

July 7, 2015
OMG! I had no idea. I was scared to get it on my entire face, because I didn't want to melt fat off, I only had it done under my chin and on the jawline, the only place I allowed her to go onto my face was near my ears (She said this would "TIGHTEN" the jowl line from my lip to my jowl, which it DIDN'T.) after seeing your site I'm scared as heck I'm glad I didn't get any of my face done! thank you! I wont be getting it again anyway

July 7, 2015
I'm scared of face lifts too, I refuse to get one, I've seen that "WIND TUNNEL LADY" look of over stretched skin, the eyes that change shape *shudder*

This stuff is nuts. I've been researching ultherapy like mad, cuz lift and builds collagen and I am ruined from a procedure with half the penetration. So I can't AFFORD to get ruined more. Was a beautiful woman, still young. "Preventative " all these cases are horrific and even the people who like their results look worse imo. Character and fat gone. If a man was losing .5 inches off his pens a week, do u think this product would exist? If it did it would be covered by insurance and reversible. The more I research this, the more angry I am. Men created this machine that's creating severe problems for women, and men are profiting from it. It's our FACES. Unreal. Thanks for letting me rant on ur thread xoxox

Please change ur review to not worth it when u get a chance. It really helps other woman. Thank you for your honesty and time.

If u feel that way , of course ! It's so,confusing . I wish I looked at all of this before I did this. I had no idea and was never on this site a lot.

LOL. Ultherapy is akin to the Emperor's Clothes. The only people who claim it works are either lying or bought into the lie. At least you didn't spend the full $5,000. :-P It's a shame because if it worked it would be a dream come true, even at $5,000. I am also in my 40s and while try anything to avoid surgery, but I think at some point you just have to suck it up, find the right doctor, and commit to surgery. Expensive but effective. Good luck!
July 19, 2015
I understand that the procedure does not work for everyone, but I have been very pleased with my results. To say people are lying or buying into a lie if they claim results is unfair. I only hope that people who read this review will read mine and others to determine if they want to give it a try. I too was afraid that my money would be wasted and I am happy to report that Ultherapy has allowed me to put off any further procedures for a while.

This is why the place I go to doesn't have Ultherapy. But they're getting the Thermitight RF within the next month. If you all search Thermitight here on Real Self, you will see very positive reviews.

Photos of Before and After
These are my photos BEFORE, and 5 months after ultherapy.
While posting my photos, I do see some small almost imperceptible changes.
However! I also lost some weight! I've changed my diet and been working out.
so the change may be due to that.
Plus, due to the EXPENSE and pain, and the fact that I didn't get the results I wanted (reduction of jowls and under chin) even if this change is from ultherapy, it's NOT worth it.
Note: I took out some of the background and lips but did NOT change the results in any way. if you think it's worth it, good luck!

Sigh. Your photos aren't taken in same light , same distance, exact same pose, so it would be difficult to note change. Four pounds isn't a lot of weight. In my opinion I'd say it was a small improvement. I have my doubts that I go through the same treatment for the same results. I know you hoped for much better. Sorry, but thank you for chronicling your experience.

Kybella could give you what you want. Ultherapy does not reduce fat. Its just supposed to tighten skin. The two might work well together.
July 22, 2019
If you think your skin will snap back, and you look young enough to me, can I suggest cool mini? It took most of my double chin. I then had ultherapy because without the fat I feared my jowls would get worse. They stayed the same and now I have some jaw line.
Thank you for sharing, please post updates and share your final results with us.
