I've been wanting to do something about my acne scarring for several years now. I am very self conscious about my skin, I avoided sunlight and direct lighting like the plague. I haven't worn my hair up in years because I used it to hide the sides of my face. Finally, I was able to look into solutions and saw Dr. Rahimi for my consultation. He suggested mixto laser, subcision and sculptra. Two weeks are needed prior to the scheduled date to prep the skin with Retin A and a bleaching agent. Both are provided and the office staff was kind enough to mail it to me. The day of the procedure I was given valium to calm my nerves and went over any additional questions I had. The procedure itself was quick with minimal pain, and I could see results immediately. I also had sclerotherapy done at the same time but will make a separate post for that.
Afterwards, I was sent home with a script for antibiotics and ativan. The worst part of recovery was the constant use of aquaphor. The peeling wasn't too bad and mostly occured when I washed my face. Dr. Rahimi explained that my skin will continue to improve over the next several months, and another procedure may be needed in 6 months or so. My scars aren't 100% gone but the change is amazing! I'm free from the years of anxiety I've had over my skin. I'll add more pics as time goes on to show progression.
