I've been wanting to do something about my acne...

I've been wanting to do something about my acne scarring for several years now. I am very self conscious about my skin, I avoided sunlight and direct lighting like the plague. I haven't worn my hair up in years because I used it to hide the sides of my face. Finally, I was able to look into solutions and saw Dr. Rahimi for my consultation. He suggested mixto laser, subcision and sculptra. Two weeks are needed prior to the scheduled date to prep the skin with Retin A and a bleaching agent. Both are provided and the office staff was kind enough to mail it to me. The day of the procedure I was given valium to calm my nerves and went over any additional questions I had. The procedure itself was quick with minimal pain, and I could see results immediately. I also had sclerotherapy done at the same time but will make a separate post for that.
Afterwards, I was sent home with a script for antibiotics and ativan. The worst part of recovery was the constant use of aquaphor. The peeling wasn't too bad and mostly occured when I washed my face. Dr. Rahimi explained that my skin will continue to improve over the next several months, and another procedure may be needed in 6 months or so. My scars aren't 100% gone but the change is amazing! I'm free from the years of anxiety I've had over my skin. I'll add more pics as time goes on to show progression.

Finding a good doctor regardless of specialty can be difficult. Most of us have probably had doctors that didn't seem to listen, or were cold and maybe a bit rude. Living in Los Angeles where plastic surgeons are abundant left me feeling overwhelmed in my search. I found Dr. Rahimi on realself and the positive reviews were spot on. My initial impression during my consultation was this particular doctor was genuinely nice, and made me feel at ease. Dr. Rahimi has been wonderful in managing my expectations and is truly a very talented doctor. He was straight forward with what to expect and very compassionate; he listened and didn't make me feel like a patient in a revolving door. The staff is super friendly and quick to return calls. His assistant Beth is extremely sweet and made sure I was comfortable during the procedure. Everything was explained to me as it was happening and Dr. Rahimi makes himself available 24/7 afterwards. Getting an appointment doesn't take forever either, which is great when you're impatient like me. Soon I'll be getting lip filler with Dr. Rahimi, I can't wait!
