MiXto Fractional CO2 Laser - Los Angeles, CA

I went in for a retouch and can report that the results are amazing! I get many compliments on my skin now. All sun damage is gone, skin looks healthy and cheeks are rosey.

One month later I continue to see the benefits of the MiXto laser such as shrinkage of damaged skin, softening of fine lines and wrinkles, removal of age and sun spots and new collagen production. I had a sagging "turkey waddle" area under my chin on my neck that even my face lift could not tighten and It is gone! Amazing! Dr R assured me that the laser would remedy it and I have to admit it sounded too good to be true but he was right. I am very pleased and I love my new youthful appearance. I do have to return for a touch up and will post the updates from that soon.

Before having this procedure done, I did a lot of research on the MiXto Fractional CO2 Laser and I found that the best Dr in Los Angeles was Dr. R, He is not only experienced with this specific laser but also is a board certified dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon. I went in for a consultation watched a short video on the how the laser procedure works, They explained all the details involving the laser and the benefits of having it done. I am in my mid 40's and although I had a forehead lift and a lower face lift a year ago, I was still concerned about my overall skin elasticity, acne scars, sun damage and enlarged pore size. Dr. R assured me that the MiXto Fractional CO2 Laser was ideal for acne scarring and deep pigmentation. I put down a cash deposit and scheduled an appointment for a week later. I was given a prescription for anti-viral medication to reduce the risk of infection. I showed up for my appointment at 7AM and was given a oral Valium under my tongue and an injection of Demerol for the pain. He then applied a thick layer of topical anesthesia (EMLA Cream) and allowed me to relax and most importantly breathe and think good thoughts and meditate. 30 minutes later Dr. R started the laser, It was virtually painless and was over before I knew it. He is very caring, skilled and professional. I have never felt so comfortable having a cosmetic procedure done like this before. The pain? I cant even remember there being any to be quite honest. The only way I could describe the feeling of the laser is like this, think of one of those 4th of July sparklers lightly touching your face only it is painless and doesn't burn. Trust me I was amazed that it was so easy and painless. immediately afterward they applied a thick coat of Aquaphor and brought me to a recovery room with a small bed to rest. About an hour later the nurse woke me up and brought me a delicious bowl of chicken veggie soup and a roll. I thought that was a nice touch and was hardly expecting it. I ate the soup and bread felt a slight bit groggy and rested a bit more. When I was ready to leave they called a taxi for me. I went home and rested. You have to wash your face and reapply a thick coat of Aquaphor every 3 or 4 hours to keep the skin moisturized. I put a big towel over my pillow and slept on my back so I would not get the aquaphor on my bedding, this part can be a bit messy.
