I had a very bad liposuction by a PS in France. So I started searching for a doctor to do a liposuction revision of my stomach and I found Dr Cat Begovic. I couldnt have read more good things about her when I found her or when I went to her. She was it. However, although shes was highly recommended on Doctors, and her before and after pics looked so amazing, it couldnt be farther from the truth. Now, Im not here to bash her or any doctors. I do consider her a nice lady and she treated me very nicely, but I have a responsibility to all women in this situation to say the truth and talk about what my experience with my liposuction revision, and what I learned from it. Although Dr. Cat Begovic tried her best to fix my botched liposuction, she didn't. My stomach looks worst than ever. It was a great attempt, I feel she tried her best, but ultimately everything was a waste of time. I wasted over 20,000 dollars and it looks exactly the same, or even worst now. One of the things I must warn all patients is to get after pictures. Fom 6 months to 1 year after because I must admit that i jumped ahead of myself a few days after my surgery. Inwent on to write about my surgery by the 2nd and 3rd day after. I was so happy with my results that I went on to write about my results, on how Dr Begovic had fixed my botched stomach, and how she had changed my life etc. Boy was I wrong. It was too soon for me to have said that. Now looking back at my experience I realized that she takes pictures of her patients before and afters on the second day after the surgery, when everything is very swollen. Those are the same pictures she posts on her website. Im sorry but that isn't when she should post her after pics. It should be posted atleast 6 months after the surgery. In my case by my second month I was already seeing dents and ripples. By my sixth month everything was back to the way it was before the revision surgery an even worst. Again, I am not saying that she isnt a good plastic surgeon.. What I am saying is that after my revision, my experience not being a success I believe that revision surgeries are a waste of money. It really does nothing for you other than make you dream of something that will never come true, mis waste your money, and it will just make it look worst. I will say this about Dr Begovic. When I began to see that my stomach was looking like before, I took pictures of my results and sent them to her through email and expressed to her how sad and unhappy I was. After 1 phone call that she made to me, I never heard from her again.. When she called me she basically spoke to me about considering a tummy tuck and even asked for me to send brighter pictures, but after that day i never heard from her or her staff again. They never responded to my emails, so I took it as a sign that she did not want to deal with my case anymore, so i never reached out to her again either. I Am very saddened by all of this because i genuinely thought she cared, but i guess she didnt. I never called her office again. I refuse to force anyone to help me. (Oh and FYI, I was aware that I had to pay for the tummy tuck, On her contract she states that even if the surgery didn't come out as expected I would have to pay for any other surgeries if needed, so it wasnt that i was asking for a freebie) So ladies, if you still have hope and want to search for a good revision plastic surgeon, my advice to you is to get real patients to speak with and have them show you their real before & after pictures taken 6 months to a year after their surgery. Dont go by doctors pics on their sites!! Good luck ????????.

This is Dr. Begovic. Thank you for taking the time to write this. I do want to confirm and clarify a few things that go along with every revision. First of all, I care deeply about every single one of my patients and for revisions have extra empathy, care and concern and take extra time and effort to help them weigh the pluses and minuses of revisions because I know the stress and sadness they have gone through. I'm sure if you are honest with yourself you know how much I care about you. For all of our patients from out of town, I see them the day after surgery, and a week after surgery before they go. We also follow up at a month, 3 months, and 6 months. Our patients send photos at the - 1 month, 3 month and 6 month mark which I review and we respond to. The first week is extremely important so I can make sure he patient is properly following all instructions and wearing their garment correctly without any bunching or creasing. You left without notification before the required one week and I called you to go over everything on the phone - but it is not the same as seeing you in person. I've never had any patients just leave a few days after surgery without notifications. Also, yes, I photograph all my patients at EVERY single visit. Whether it's one day, one week, one month or any visit. For my out of town patients, we use the before and afters they send at the 3 month or longer which is why on the website they often look like iPhone photos. The patients who are local have long term photos. I've never posted any photos from 1 day post op. You can confirm that since post op day one patients are usually very bruised. It wouldn't make sense to use those photos anyway! It takes at least a month for the bruising to go away.

Also we called and emailed you multiple multiple times with no response. We are happy to forward you all those emails and documented phone calls. We literally have a whole folder of emails and notes about leaving you multiple messages. The only time we ever heard back was months later when you emailed back and I called you immediately to review your results and your options. I normally keep in close communication with my patients, you were the only one who ever responded to our phone calls or emails.

Also, it is incorrect to say that all revisions are a waste of time and money. I have many patients who have come back to their follow ups at 1 year and 2 year with lasting results. Sometimes revisions don't completely fix all the irregularities because of the pre-existing scar tissue. I tell every single patient that there is a possibility that based on scarring from previous surgery that the scar may reform or it may compromise the success of fat grafting. There is also a lot of memory in the skin or if there has been severe damage, there is only so much that can be repaired. I have every patient sign on a separate consent form that they understand that revisions are unpredictability and that despite all efforts there are sill going to be irregularities, and that any pre-existing scar tissue will still be there that revision can sometimes cause even more scar, that fat grafting into scar is unpredictable. My before and after pictures are honest - you can see on them that it is rarely completely smooth, sometimes they are, but there is usually a significant improvement. I never never never tell patients that there is any guarantee about revisions because every body is scarred differently from their previous surgery. Some patients are so scarred, I tell them that I don't think surgery will improve their situation. I have turned away about 15% of revisions who I did not feel there was any possibility of helping. I am extremely extremely honest with patients and your review is hurtful to me as a person. But you are doing a disservice to all the patients who I have helped and who I could potentially help by your review.

It would mean a lot to me if we could have a conversation about this because it really does sadden me that you felt bad in any way. I know that you know how much I genuinely care about you, not only as a patient but also a person. I will call you on Monday. I hope you answer.

Hello,

I had revision liposuction with Dr. Cat and she is absolutely amazing. One thing to realize is, revision will never be 100% perfect and to have realistic expectations. There are also very specific steps to take in your aftercare to ensure a successful recovery. I'm sorry you feel your surgery was not a success however Dr. Cat is a miracle worker and changes lives daily with the work she does to repair the horrors done by previous surgeons.

Sure, one day I might consider the further step in doing a tummy tuck to get an even more dramatic result but she is very clear in explaining all options and the types of results to expect.

She is also one of the kindest and dearest people I have ever met and I would not trust anyone else with my body.

I wish you all the best of luck.
