Staged Procedure

I have had three small procedures with Dr. Rassman over several years. The small donor strips were taken from incisions overlying the previous incision/scarline. The area is very small and very difficult to see per family members who are able to search along the back of my head. The final results involving the temples are natural and I feel blessed to have had such a kind, warm and caring person correct my hairline. I actually wish I had more to do so that I could see Dr. Rassman and the rest of his incredible team.

Satisfied Customer

It ha snow been fifteen months since my third and final procedures. My hair looks great. I am going to ask someone to photograph the transplanted areas so I can post them. I am so pleased.

I would like to begin by saying that Dr. Rassman...

I would like to begin by saying that Dr. Rassman is one of the kindest and most genuine people I have ever met. He and the staff at the NHI are very welcoming and warm and I now consider Dr. Rassman to be a personal friend. I have had three small procedures (approximately 300 to 400 grafts at each procedure). These were performed in the temporal area where I have had some recession. Dr. Rassman performed a small strip incision. I believe that these were incised at an angle and were approximately 1 1/2" to 2" in length. He was able to go back over the same area during subsequent procedures so that I do not have additional scarring. He closed the incision with a trychophytic suture. It is very difficult to locate the scar (my husband has looked as he was concerned about scarring and he really can't locate it easily). I should say that I I do have A LOT of hair and the areas that I transplanted were sparse compared to the rest of my head. My full head of hair may account for the camouflage around the scar but I think that the Doctor's technique had the most to do with it.

I remained awake for all three procedures. The only (slightly) painful part of the procedure were the injections to numb the donor and recipient sites but it was not excessively painful and I enjoyed talking with Dr. Rassman and the technicians who performed the preparation and placement of the grafts.

After the procedures, I had very minimal swelling for about one week which was easily covered by my hair. There was no post operative pain and I was able to return to work, exercise, etc. the following day.

A large number of my grafts seemed to grow from the time of placement. They say that they will fall out and begin to grow several months after the procedure. I can already see hair that appears to be approximately 1"+ in the most recently grafted area (3 1/2 months ago). This was true following the past two procedures as well and I expect the area to gain more nor growth as the more dormant grafts sprout.

I am so glad that I have had these procedures. My hair looks great and it is a great confidence booster to look in the mirror and see my hair look the way I expect it to look. It has regained its wave in the transplanted areas and matches the surrounding hair. Dr. Rassman takes great care to place the hair in the correct direction and configuration for your face and scalp so that it looks natural.

On a different note... Two of the technicians told me that they had their eyebrows grafted. They looked absolutely beautiful. Just saying...

I hope that I will be able to stay in touch with everyone at NHI. They have gained a special place in my life.
