one week post

it's been about one week since my coolsculpting on my chin, flanks and abdomen. I'm still experiencing some numbness. My abdomen was pretty tender for several days, and at one point even had red dots that appeared to be under my skin. The swelling is gone but due to numbness everything feels a little weird, even some itching but nothing terrible.

The doctor said I should massage the areas twice a day for 5 minutes each for 2 weeks post-procedure. For the first few days, this was excrutiating. When the swelling and tenderness subsided it got easier, and instead of 5 minutes chunks i do it here and there throughout the day which is pretty nice actually.

I don't notice any difference yet, but of course it's only been a week.

A few years ago I lost 70 pounds with diet alone. Since then I have gained back about 20, and diet has failed me. I started exercising and that didn't work either. So I figured I'd see what Coolsculpting could do for me: my chin, my stomach and my flanks.

The procedure itself was long (I did it over 2 days at about 4 hours each). The facility I was at had Netflix so that was nice. 2 on each flank and 4 around my belly button, and a CoolMini on my chin. It was a little uncomfortable but not painful, the chin was the worst and even that was tolerable. I've heard many complain about the massage, that was the best part!

So the flanks were done in the first session, and the next day they were so swollen and tender I pretty much could not wear pants. Sleeping was difficult but not impossible. The swelling has since gone down a bit (it's been about 3 days). Yesterday I did my belly and chin, and today there is significant swelling on my belly and a little on my chin. All areas are tender but still have numbness.

My doctor said the swelling is normal and even encouraging, meaning I have that much fat that can be flushed out lol. I will continue to update as things change. Here are a couple pics I took myself before the procedures. Cheers!
