Day 16

Hello hello! Sorry I haven’t posted many pictures of my daily recovery process. I haven’t posted them mainly bc there are days I’m not happy with how it looks and sometimes I forget since I’m just lying down so much. For example, last week (day 11) I had to go shopping for pants to wear to work - much of the swelling went down but I guess not as much as it really could go down (I went up two sizes but could squeeze into one size up but it was too uncomfortable to be constrained mike that for very long.). My hips were popping out, and while I don’t want anyone to know I got this done, the hips are a dead giveaway! But now on day 16, my hips have dramatically gone down and I think I can now pass as a workout butt (but I have to build my legs up in mass for sure!). But then I was kind of bummed out that the hips weren’t so pronounced anymore. It looked so nice even though to anyone who knew me would be obvious, it looked great! It’s been annoying emotionally, and since the results have been varying so much day by day, I’m not paying much attention to the mirror to avoid driving myself nuts with how I look. You seriously end up with too much time on your hands and criticizing my body on a daily basis isn’t something I want to occupy my time with! I also feel like since I haven’t worked out in a few months my legs are super skinny so im not at my best! I’m just patiently waiting for the swelling to really go down and until then I’ve just been keeping busy redecorating and organizing my home lol while in sweats to be comfortable. Ive been wearing big sweaters when at work to disguise the size. I take a peek at my butt every once in a while and it’s still looking great and that’s all there really is to it, just want to be fully functional already. I can’t wait for the day I’m able to lay on my back/side when sleeping and sit down without feeling nervous!
Just know, your results l change literally EVERY SINGLE DAY. It’s not on a constant decline in swelling. Some days go up drastically (especially in week one) and some go down dramatically (week 2) but can go up and down slightly day by day. One drops before the other. One side can be more sore than the other, more pain in one side... etc. Don’t go crazy with what you’re seeing or fall too in love w what you’re seeing - it’s still going to change! Jut trust that you’re in good hands w dr Stanton and take good care of yourself. Recovery isn’t easy!
I returned to work on day 14, luckily hardly anyone was there this week (plus a snowstorm today!) so I was able to stand at my desk, no biggie. Still laying down in cabs (I just tell them I injured my back and can’t bend so need to lay down. Getting in an SUV is still difficult, getting dressed is easier, I’ve finessed a way to get my pants on without lifting my knee up and bending down. I bend my left knee inwards like as if you’re half crossing your legs, and kind of swoop one foot into one leg of the pant then bend my right knee so my ankle goes up behind me and get the other one in there. Hope you guys understand what I’m saying lol. Still can’t bend that low to tie a shoe lace! Sitting at work hasn’t really happened. I’ve kind of sat for a few minutes but leaning forward on my hamstrings.
A lot of doctors tell you not to sit but I found it hard to understand what I’m really able to do if I didn’t know WHY I couldn’t sit. I spoke w Dr Stanton the day before I went to work, asking if I could force the sit down even if my muscles didn’t feel flexible enough yet. And if stretching my muscles is OK to do. He told me no, that I shouldn’t force it and should definitely not be stretching. It has to heal at its pace (you have one shot for this so don’t [RS bleep] it up!). I originally thought that sitting down after just 2 weeks was bad bc it would affect the placement of the implant. But apparently that’s not the case. It’s bc the sutures haven’t fully healed even if on the outside it seems so. Busting these open will cause the doctor to have to take them out etc. So sitting down feels absolutely crazy. Like two plastic plates in your butt. So uncomfortable. But not to worry about the pressure moving them. Just make sure to relieve the pressure so they don’t push open the sutures! So sitting at 90degrees isn’t a good idea so even a boppy pillow doesn’t help. A regular cushion may be better, and lean forward more on your hamstring to take the pressure off your butt.
I’m walking totally normal now. Started on act treatment w silicone sheets yesterday. That’s all I have for you guys now. When my BF comes over in a few days I’ll ask him to take some pix for me to post for y’all. :)

Tips/recovery update/Pics: Pre-opp + 1 week post-opp

Sorry I haven’t updated. Recovery is a serious process! I think I have a pretty high threshold for pain. I had my breasts done before - and I had it done twice in one week bc I thought the initial results were too small. But man, I bounced back from that surgery in just a day! I had an IV in my arm and wore a sweatshirt to hide it and was out and about. But for THIS surgery... it’s no where near as easy.
Day 1- I came home from surgery barely able to walk or bend your legs but my butt looked amazing! Dr Stanton really is THE BEST. The size is perfect and it even gave me some hips!!! Better than expected. I thought I was only filling out the sides and top of my butt for projection but it made me way more curvy JB the hips and I love it!!! :) the nurses and the anesthesiologist were so great as well! Make sure the car you’re leaving in is a sedan (an suv or high car will be really difficult getting into!). Since I could barely walk or bend my legs, I had to basically fall into the car on my tummy while my boyfriend pulled me in from the other side lol. Getting out of the car I just pushed out w my arms while he helped me up and I waddled up to my Airbnb. The skin was super tight and it was a tad high (totally normal) and because of the anesthesia the pain seemed pretty bearable! Assumed the rest of my healing would be a piece of cake. The photos w the bandage are from right after surgery. Sleeping on your stomach is hard. Definitely buy a king size pillow to lay on to help raise your torso a bit higher to take the pressure off your lower back. It was the best thing I bought for my recovery lol. You want lots of soft fluffy pillows around but that king size one was my best friend lol. You can add another pillow by your head also - I found that to be the most comfortable. You’re going to be like a seal for a whole week so a lot of neck strain and a lot of leaning on the elbows which is why the pillows angling upwards toward your head are helpful. If you’re from out of town and renting an Airbnb, definitely look for a place with a low semi firm bed, a wide open couch to fall and crawl on and off of (with enough space for a friend or partner to also be comfy!) and look for a standup shower bathroom without a tub as bending the legs and lifting them is sooo hard! You’re going to want to just walk into the shower and have everything at arms length standing level. Peeing cups are helpful too since you not only shouldn’t but actually cannot sit down.
Day 2 - major pain. Took the prescription meds and antibiotics and pretty much stayed on the couch all day. My butt started to swell more and more and moving around was super difficult. I would recommend having someone around to help you because you really can’t do much. I was walking like a duck with a stick up my ass. I started to sleep on the couch bc my setup was more comfortable for it. The big open chaise L sofa so it was easy to roll on and off it and also left space for my boyfriend to still be comfortable while taking care of me. I didn’t have much of an appetite but you need to eat w your antibiotics so try to force the food down. Haven’t pooped yet. Which was fine. The pain killers kind of stop you from even feeling like you need to go at all!
Day 3-5 - the hardest of days. My butt swelled up so big that I got pretty upset worried that it wouldn’t go down. It was HUGE. My awesome boyfriend kept me calm assuring me it was just extremely swollen. As soon as the pain meds wore off, the pain was pretty intense. It feels like all the nerves in your butt, thigh and some parts of the knees are jolted and throbbing. Still walking like a duck with a stick up my ass lol. Took a shower on day 3 and I felt so good to finally be able to clean myself after being slumped on a couch for so many days in sore pain lol. The scar got me a bit upset as one side seemed higher than the other (peeking out above my crack) and that side was more raised. It went down by day 5 but still peeking out a bit. Applying neosporin was a bit difficult since my butt was so swollen I couldn’t even wedge my finger in there so I kind of just glided it along the crack and tried to push it in. It seemed to work. Still haven’t pooped by day 4 but was pretty scared at the thought bc I wanted to keep the area as clean as possible. finally pooped in day 5 and it wasn’t bad at all. Stool softeners help and kept baby wipes around to stay as clean as possible! I overpacked clothes thinking I would be more mobile and able to dress myself. I ended up changing my clothes maybe 2-3 times over the span of a week. I know it sounds gross but you’re over ambitious if you think you’re doing much more than that lol. The dr’s office advises me not to even wear panties or pants for the next week. Just to wear a big long t shirt and robe but I needed pants. Panties definitely didn’t make sense at all. If you’re like me and need pants, definitely bring a few pairs of big baggy sweats or PJ pants - get a size up bc pulling the pants up and down around your butt is not fun if the waist band is tight. My butt was sore to the TOUCH so clothing putting pressure and grazing across my butt was not pleasant!
Day 6: swelling went down dramatically. Moving around became surprisingly easier and the pain went down a lot as well. By this day you should be pretty able to function on your own without help. Putting on your own pants or socks/underwear is pretty impossible though. You can shower on day 3, but definitely needed help getting dressed on the bottom half bc bending over or lifting the legs was not happening. So showering everyday may not be the best idea unless someone is there to help you every time. Still walking like a duck (but without the stick in the ass lol). Walking gets better everyday but my knees were getting weak if I stood for too long.
Day 7: swelling went down even more and I felt so much better. Pains been better and I jumped off of the percs and switched to just Motrin. Spent most the day resting and sleeping anyways.
Day 8: had my post opp appointment. Bc it was Christmas weekend, I couldn’t see anyone on day 5/6 and they were closed on day 7. Dr was out of town for my post opp but his nurse was great and checked me out. Everything was great, one side dropped lower than the other but still good. Pics in my workout clothes are on this day. Still waddling around.
Day 9: took my flight back home. I had to tell security at the airport that I couldn’t take off/put on my shoes bc I couldn’t bend down due to a medical procedure and they let me walk through but double scanned my shoes. It was a 6hr flight and I rode in JetBlue Mint (THE BEST- and so worth it if you have a long flight!!) I give it to you ladies who sat in any class where they didn’t have a flat bed bc the time I had to sit up during landing and takeoff was so difficult! I had to prop a ton of pillows (another time my king size pillow came in REAL handy!!) almost so that I could lean diagonally into the seat and another airplane pillow or 2 under my hamstrings to help take pressure off my butt with my feet pressing my back into the bigger pillows. I felt a few sharp pangs of pain when I had any pressure on my butt at all so it was pretty intense for those 30m. Got home, rested and that was that.
Day 10: (today). Walking better than yesterday. Still can’t put my pants back on by myself but walking more like a normal person and having more flexibility. Pain is bearable now and barely taking any meds. :)
I’ll update more next week when I go back to work!!! Feel free to ask me any questions! :)

I'm 7 days and counting till my surgery for 500cc...

I'm 7 days and counting till my surgery for 500cc oval butt implants with Dr Stanton and I'm super excited but nervous at the same time. I'm a petite asian girl - 5'1" at 112lbs and was looking at a BBL options but had a few doctors tell me I'm not a good candidate for that procedure since I didn't have enough fat to harvest. I sent photos to Dr Jimenez in Colombia and he let me know that I was too thin to get much projection, only waist definition. I also had a consultation with Dr Dennis Dass in LA, and wow that was a nightmare of a consultation.. he basically just took $100 from me for nothing. He didn't even give me a gown for him to look at my body. He had me awkwardly just pull my leggings down to my knees and lift my shirt up. How strange is that? When I asked him what my best options are, he basically answered all my questions with more questions like "well what do you want to do?" ... umm I'm looking to you as a professional for INSIGHT and the best options for my body/frame. When I asked him about implants and sizes, he told me there was only ONE size of an implant and they're complicated and he doesn't like to do them. Then decides to tell me "I don't think you're ready for any type of surgery"... what a cop out when he didnt even give me a real consultation by not even looking at me! Wow. Thanks for robbing me of $100.
But then I walked into Dr Stanton's office. NO FEE (just a hold for the appointment, when you show up, they remove the hold!). He walked into the consultation with confidence and asked me what I was looking to do. Provided me with a gown so he can assess what is best for me. Explained to me all the different kinds of implants and sizes with each shape - he even created his own oval shape which was the best match for me (so clearly there isn't just one size, Dr Dass!). Then showed me 2 sizes that would be best for me and placed them on my butt for me to see. My boyfriend and I were sold. I feel safe in his hands and his ability to actually ANSWER questions with intelligent responses and insightful/realistic outcomes was what made me even more sure that he was the doctor for me. Plus, his experience with implants, stellar reviews and the fact that he invented his own implant to better fit women with longer butts made it a no brainer! Mindy is hilarious and keeps it so real with you.. great office. I booked it for next Tuesday 12/19!! I found him thanks to the help of all the realself forums so I'm reaching out to all of you in hopes to gain some tips from those who underwent this procedure (preferably with Stanton but all are welcome!).
- What are some items I will need for a speedy and comfortable recovery?? I've read people writing about stool softeners, pee cups, a poppy pillow (what kind is best?). Anything else?? Scar creams/sheets - any preferred brands? Arnica? What shouldn't I waste my time with??
- How was the recovery process day by day?? Realistically, what is the timeline for sitting and going back to work? I have exactly 2 weeks off of work without my job or anyone knowing about this so I'm a bit nervous if I'm going to be able to pull this off without them noticing behavioral changes (I can hide the results under bigger clothes).
- What are some issues that may arise that are not actually complications per say, but just a part of the healing process? Just want to be mentally prepared for any alarming changes that may freak me out but are totally normal! lol
- I'm especially keen to hearing from people 1 year post op and how soft it got.
- How was the scarring?
Looking forward to hearing from you all! Will post pre-opp pics shortly!!
