Hi everyone! My name is Michelle and I have 3 tattoos.

My first was on my lower back of a very small ( 1 inch) crescent moon outline. ( i got 13 years ago)
My second was of a 4 by 2 inch fairy on my pelvic Bone ( hidden) ( 11 years ago)
and my last is of 3 tiny ( non outlined) turquoise stars on my left side wrist.. with 5 tiny dots. ( 11 years ago)

I decided to get the crescent moon tattoo removed last year by am EVIL woman who sold me some horrible procedure. Its called TATTOOVANISH ,.. omg .. she basically opend my tattoo up as if she was tattooing me and put a solution that caused the ink to lift and scab.. days later i noticed the skin was raised.. and developed a keloid scar.. the tattoo was slightly faded but now a 3D tattoo. What a %#&( person that would do this to me. I left her the worse yelp review EVER.

So instead of think to do some other laser procedure on the scar a year later.. 2 days ago I decided to get a new tattoo over it. I got some ivy and a better celtic crescnt moon. The tattoo artist was a bit pushy with her ideas. Some i liked some i didnt. Overall I THOUGHT she listened to what i said. But didnt. The tattoo came out to dark, too large, and the crescnt moon shape isnt my fav. The ivy is large but pretty overall. If i got fix anything about it it would be to remove the color from the crescent moon.

So basically after doing research Ive decided to remove the first 2 tattoos i have and possibly in the future remove the crescent moon color and just redo the celtic spirals. Id be happy with it if it wasnt for the color really. The artist dabbled little colored dots of magenta, blue and light blue in order to make it look purple. She explained to me that she can lighten it.. but im afraid of light colors on it because from my understanding they are the most difficult to remove. I think at this point tho.. im so unsure... as if i should lighten it or not.. or just get some laser in future. I also what to share that I think id like this tattoo if it were not colored at all in the crescent .. just celtic spirals. Also.. sucks that i have a horrible memory of the racist tattoo artist. Sorry im not white enough for you to get celtic spirals.. i really liked them.. she made e few comments ( jokes) that made my furious. Sad to have a tattoo memory of someone so stupid. Anyway my tattoo still has to scab and peel off.

THOUGH.. i wish i had no tattoos to be honest. But i can live with the back one. I can live with all but if i can get them removed.. id prefer it.

Ill post pics of all of my tattoos and the progress of their removal. Im looking into Q switch and Picosure. Im studying which colors are best removed with certain lasers and this website explains it nicely...

My mom was telling me that the wrist one is no big deal.. looks like dots from far but.. i feel like a child wearing stars LOL idk maybe you can tell me what you think. All my friends have tattoos.. somehow i just wish i would have never thought on impulse to get these dumb things. I kinda wish i had nice flawless skin.

My fear of laser removal is having scars vrs tattoos. Its like.. well.. i dont want a white tattoo after paying all this money.

People have made nice comments about my wrist tattoo over time

Welcome to the community, glad you took the time to share your story with us. I actually really love the crescent moon, would never have thought it was a cover up. Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Tattoo Vanish, I always wondered about that treatment....I guess it works for some.

Look forward to your updates!

Thanks Eva!! :) Yes, it was such a bad experience... i wouldnt recommend it to anyone... unless you want a 3d tattoo because it doesnt get rid of it 1st or 2nd time.. and each time it leave a very strong scar. As my crescent moon is healing i can see the lifted part of the scarring from the old tattoo. Thats how strong of a scar that procedure left me with. :/

Thank you for sharing your story. I really do love the moon tattoo! It is good that you are researching your options instead of jumping into it. My advice to anyone that doesn't hate their tat, is to keep it. Laser removal is painful, expensive, and inevitably takes longer than you think it will. If you decide that they have to go, the Picosure laser would likely take care of the stars and fairy. It is more expensive than q-switch lasers, but I have been very happy with it.

Hi JLN! Thanks so much for your response. :) and kind comment on my moon tattoo. I think it is the one that will stay for sure. I will have to think more on the removal of the fairy because its so big and hidden already. So it would be a lot more money. I think the picosure could also take care of the stars fairly quickly because of the color. I hear picosure removes blues, greens, and turquoise so fast. Is it true that the picosure removed black just as fast? From my research on this board.. i understand that the Q switch is better for black tattoos and that it doesnt leave as much scarring.

My ankle tattoo is 20+ years old with black, purple, and green ink. I've had 7 q-switch and 2 Picosure treatments. The 2 Picosure faded all 3 colors more than the 7 q-switch. The thin black lines are completely gone. The thick black lines were done by a different artist at a different time, and have been more stubborn, but still have faded significantly. Doing your stars first would be a good idea so you could see what you are getting yourself into and the results would be quicker.

wow, i see. And did the picosure leave any scarring? I notice a lot of keloid scarring when the laser is stronger.
